Soft DK - Sweater Weather!

Hallo meine Lieben,

zuerst möchte ich euch ein fertiges Strickprojekt zeigen: Meine Fleurette Jacket, die ich im August angefangen habe, ist nun fertig und damit habe ich dieses Jahr mein drittes Oberteil fertigstellen können!

Die Konstruktion fand ich sehr interessant. Man beginnt nämlich erst an der Taille und strickt ein "Hüftband" so breit bzw. lang, wie man es eben haben möchte. Dadurch lässt sich dann der ganze Cardigan leicht an jede Größe anpassen. Da ich einen offenen Cardigan ohne Knöpfe haben wollte, habe ich einfach ein paar Reihen weniger gestrickt. An diesem Stück nimmt man dann zuerst Maschen für den unteren Teil auf, der in einem wunderschönen Lacemuster gestrickt wird. Danach folgt die Maschenaufnahme für den oberen Teil, der glatt rechts gearbeitet wird. Schließlich wird die Arbeit geteilt, man macht für die Ärmelausschnitte ein paar Abnahmen, kettet ab und schließt die Schulternaht. Abschließend strickt man noch die Ärmel dran. Ich habe mich für lange entschieden und habe hier noch einen kleinen Abschnitt mit dem Lacemuster eingebaut. Was soll ich sagen? Der Cardigan passt wie angegossen und ich bin mehr als zufrieden!

Gestrickt hab ich die Fleurette Jacket mit meiner Soft DK in der Färbung Druid und eigentlich brauche ich euch gar nicht viel zu der Wolle sagen, zumindest denjenigen nicht, die die Soft Socks kennen. Ist die gleiche Wolle, nur eben dicker :-) Dementsprechend ging es eigentlich auch ganz schnell zu stricken (wenn man sich mal nur auf ein Projekt konzentrieren könnte). Ein Soft DK Strang wiegt ja 150g und ich hab nicht ganz drei Stränge davon gebraucht. Hätte ich die Ärmel kurz gelassen und hätte die Jacke nicht gaaaanz so lange gestrickt, wäre ich mit zwei Strängen gut hingekommen. Außerdem mag ich die 150g Stränge - sie sind so schön riesig und am Ende hat man auch nicht so viel Fäden zum Vernähen ;-)

Jetzt will ich natürlich noch mehr Oberteile aus der Wolle und hab schon wieder zig Ideen im Kopf. Bevor ich aber wie wild alles Mögliche anschlage, hab ich lieber erstmal gefärbt, viele Farben auf der Soft DK. Schließlich möchte ich euch das Strickvergnügen mit diesem herrlichen Garn ja nicht vorenthalten. Ein “Pulloverwetter” Shopupdate ist genau das Richtige - ein Blick auf den Wetterbericht sagt nämlich, dass der Herbst dieses Jahr doch noch kommt :D

first I would like to show you a finished knitting project: My Fleurette Jacket, which I started in August, is now finished and so this is my third garment I knitted this year!

I had a great interest in the construction of this cardigan. You start at the waist and knit a "midriff band" as wide or long as you want it to be. This makes it easy to adapt the whole cardigan to any size. Since I wanted to have an open cardigan without buttons, I simply knitted a few rows less. Then you take this piece and pick up stitches for the bottom of the jacket, which is knitted in a beautiful lace pattern. Then you pick up stitches for the upper part, which is worked in stockinette stitch. Finally, you divide the work for the fronts, back and sleeves, make a few decreases for the armholes, bind off and sew the shoulder seams. Then you knit the sleeves. I decided to knit long ones and added a small section with the lace pattern. What should I say? The cardigan fits like a glove and I am more than satisfied!

For my Fleurette Jacket I used my Soft DK base in the colourway Druid and actually I don't need to tell you much about this yarn, at least not to those who know my Soft Socks. It's the same yarn, but thicker :-) Accordingly it would have been possible to finish it very fast (in case you were able to concentrate on only one project). One skein of my Soft DK base weighs 150g and I didn't need quite three skeins of it. If I had left the sleeves short and hadn't knitted the jacket as long as I did, I would have done well with two skeins. I also like the 150g cakes you have with this yarn - they are so huge and in the end you don't have so many ends to weave in ;-)

Now, of course, I want even more sweaters or cardigans made out of this yarn and yes, I have lots of ideas. But before I cast on everything I have in mind, I decided to first dye several colourways on my Soft DK base. After all, you also should have the chance to work with this amazing yarn. A "sweater weather" shop update is exactly the right thing - a look at the weather forecast says that autumn will finally arrive this year :D
