Hallo meine Lieben,

na, habt ihr YouTube auch nach Rhinebeck Videos durchforstet? Dieses Jahr hatten die meisten Besucher dieses Wollfestivals Pullover an, die sie nach Anleitungen von Caitlin Hunter gearbeitet haben. Ich muss ja gestehen, dass ich selbst schon länger um drei ihrer Designs herumschleiche - und was macht mehr Spaß als das Planen eines neuen Projekts? :-)

 

Hello everybody,

well, have you guys been looking through YouTube for Rhinebeck videos, too? This year most of the visitors of this yarn festival wore sweaters, which they worked according to Caitlin Hunter's patterns. I have to admit that I've been sneaking around about three of her designs for a while now - and what is more fun than planning a new project? :-)

 

 

Zweig

Ich denke, so ziemlich jeder von euch kennt diesen wunderschönen Pulli. Alleine auf Instagram habe ich schon unzählige Bilder gesehen und die möglichen Farbkombinationen scheinen grenzenlos zu sein.

Gestrickt wird dieser Rundpassenpullover von oben nach unten mit Garn in Sockenwollstärke. Soft Socks, oh da, danach schreit der doch, oder nicht?

Für den Zweig braucht man nur zwei unterschiedliche Farben. Eigentlich ist es nicht schwer, zwei Farben zu finden, die gut zusammen passen. Aber wer die Wahl hat, hat auch die Qual :-)

Morok (der Strang, der oben liegt) ist ein recht neutraler Farbton, der bestimmt gut in so manche Herbst- und Wintergarderobe passt. Könnte ich mir gut als Hauptfarbe vorstellen. Aber ein bisschen Pepp muss da schon noch dazu. Wild Rose als Kontrastfarbe für den Lochmusterteil würde sich definitiv gut machen und wäre ein gelungener Eyecatcher. Ja, die Kombi kann ich mir ganz gut vorstellen.

 

Zweig

I think pretty much everyone of you knows this beautiful sweater. On Instagram I have seen countless pictures and the possible colour combinations seem to be limitless.

This yoke sweater is knitted from top to bottom with fingering weight yarn. Soft Socks, oh there, that's what it's begging for, isn't it?

To knit Zweig you only need two different colours. Actually, it's not difficult to find two colours that go well together. But the bigger the choice, the harder it is to choose :-)

Morok (the skein on top) is a rather neutral shade, which certainly fits well in some autumn and winter wardrobes. I could well imagine it as the main colour. But a little bit of some spice has to be added. Wild Rose as contrasting colour for the lace section would definitely look good and would be a great eyecatcher. Yes, I can imagine this combination quite well.

 

 

Marettimo

Mit diesem netten Kurzarmpulli hat uns die Designerin diesen Sommer überrascht. Wie ich finde, kann man das Teil nicht nur in der warmen Jahreszeit tragen. Sieht sicher auch schick mit einer Weste drüber oder einem Longsleeveshirt drunter aus.

Diesen Pulli strickt man von unten nach oben und auch hier eignen sich die Soft Socks hervorragend. Man muss sich nur für drei Farben entscheiden.

Interessanterweise fiel es mir hier leichter, eine schöne Farbkombi zu finden. Als Hauptfarbe, also für den oberen Teil, finde ich Party All Night (das dunkle Blau) sehr gut geeignet. Oder doch das strahlende Sky? Auf jeden Fall Nebula für den unteren welligen Teil. Ob man die Wellen dann in dem dunklen oder hellen Blau einfassen möchte, kann man sich ja nochmal durch den Kopf gehen lassen ;)

Hmm, wenn ich jetzt noch mal die Farbkombination für den Zweig vorstelle, könnte ich mir auch Morok sehr gut für diesen Pulli vorstellen. Party All Night wieder als Hauptteil, aber für den Lacepart unten dann ein Zusammenspiel aus Morok und Nebula. Oh ja, das würde sicher auch sehr schön aussehen ♥

 

Marettimo

This summer the designer surprised us with this pretty short-sleeved summer sweater. I think you can wear it not only in the warm season of the year. It certainly looks also very nice if you wear it together with a cardigan or a long-sleeve T-Shirt.

This sweater is knitted from bottom to top and also here the Soft Socks are very suitable. You only have to choose three colours.

Interestingly, it was easier for me to find a nice colour combination for this design. As main colour for the upper part, I think Party All Night (the dark blue) is very well suitable. Or the lighter blue called Sky? In any case, Nebula has to be used for the wavy lace section. If you want to combine this part with the dark or the light part, is something you can or the lower wavy part. If you want to surround the waves in the dark or light blue, is something you can mull over ;)

Hmm, now I have just had a look again at the Zweig colour combinaiton and, well, I think Morok would work for Marettimo very well, too. Again, Party All Night as main colour, but a lovely interplay of Morok and Nebula for the lace section. Oh yes, that would certainly also look very nice ♥

 

 

Sunset Highway

Der Sunset Highway darf natürlich auch nicht fehlen. Ich habe schon so viele Varianten von diesem Pullover gesehen. Dezente Farben, knallig, wilde Kontraste, sanfte Verschmelzungen von Farbtönen – ist es nicht toll, dass Geschmäcker so verschieden sind und man als Stricker oder Strickerin sich alles nach seinen Wünschen gestalten kann?

Wie schon bei den anderen beiden Designs, würde ich auch hier zu den Soft Socks greifen. Insgesamt braucht man vier verschiedene Farben und eigentlich sollte man meinen, dass es gar nicht so einfach ist, sich für eine Kombination zu entscheiden, oder?

Als ich aber das erste Mal den Sunset Highway gesehen hatte, wusste ich sofort für welche Farbkombination ich mich entscheiden würde – und da ich als Auftrag schon häufig diese oder eine ähnliche Zusammenstellung färben durfte, weiß ich, dass sie auch Vielen von euch gefällt. Druid (die petrolfarbenen Stränge auf dem Bild), Desert Storm (der sandfarbene), Rehaugen (braun) und Take it easy (gespeckelt) harmoniert einfach so gut zusammen!

 

Sunset Highway

The Sunset Highway should not be missing either. I have already seen so many variations of this sweater. Quiet colours, loud colours, wild contrasts, soft blends of colours - isn't it great that tastes are so different and that as a knitter you can create everything according to your wishes?

As with the other two designs, I would also choose the Soft Socks base here. Altogether you need four different colours and you should think that it is not that easy to decide for a combination, right?

But when I saw the Sunset Highway for the first time, I immediately knew which colour combination I would choose - and since I was often asked to dye this or a similar combination for custom orders, I know that many of you like it, too. Druid (the teal skein on the picture), Desert Storm (the sand-coloured), Rehaugen (brown) and Take it easy (the speckled one) simply harmonize so well together!

 

Entscheiden kann ich mich immer noch nicht, was aber auch daran liegen mag, dass ich momentan nicht wirklich Zeit für so ein großes Projekt habe. Und ich möchte es ja auch genießen können. Das Färben der möglichen Farbkombinationen hat mir aber sehr große Freude bereitet. Und wie ihr schon erahnen könnt, hab ich natürlich nicht nur die wenigen Stränge auf den Bildern gefärbt :) Am Sonntag gibt es daher um 12.00 Uhr mittags ein Shopupdate - und wer weiß, vielleicht strickt ihr ja damit nach einer Anleitung von Caitlin Hunter ;-)

I still can't make up my mind, but that may be because I don't really have time for such a big project at the moment. And I want to be able to enjoy the process of knitting it. But I really enjoyed dyeing all these possible colour combinations. And as you can already guess, of course I didn't just dye the few skeins on the pictures :) So there will be a shop update on Sunday at 12.00 noon - and who knows, maybe you'll knit with it according to patterns by Caitlin Hunter ;-)
