Meine kreativen Abenteuer im April

My creative adventures in April

Three projects - three new designs.

Hallo meine Lieben,

Flirting_with_the_Wind_BIf you have received the April newsletter (What, you haven't subscribed to the newsletter yet? Then go for it!) might remember that I haven't planned any new patterns to be released at the moment, but who knows me, knows that sometimes spontaneous flashes of inspiration hit me. Yes, what can I say, in April I actually worked on two new ideas :) I think whoever is a member of the Schibot Garne Ravelry group has already seen some test knits taking place. And today I already opened a new thread, because I need test knitters for my new shawl design Flirting with the Wind. If you are interested in the test knit, you can find all information HERE.

But here on the blog I want to tell you a little bit more about Flirting with the Wind. In the middle of March I had a shop update, where three colourways went online, which fit together perfectly: Landslide, Rizza and Swoop. When I held these three skeins of Soft Socks in my hands, I knew immediately that I had to knit a shawl out of them. One in which these three colours melt together. In order to achieve this without much effort, I had the idea to work the complete shawl holding two threads together - and let's be honest, that's also much faster ;)

Since my last shawl design (The test knit is finished today! Juhuu!) for the Wyvern Shawl is quite elaborate (many different knitting patterns), Flirting with the Wind should become a project without much paying attention to the instructions and therefore also suitable for beginners. I always find it amazing what great effects you can achieve with the interplay of simple garter stitch elements and lace patterns.

I had a lot of fun knitting and I got quite addicted to it. It took me less than seven days to have the finished shawl in my hands ♥

Right at the beginning of the month, however, I knitted a pair of short socks. For this project I also used a new colourway, Surfing.

Somehow I don't feel like knitting simple Vanilla Socks without any other knitting stitches at the moment. So I experimented a bit and came up with a pattern that shows off the beauty of hand dyed, colourful yarn. Super easy to knit, the Surfing Socks. And again a pattern you can imagine on men's feet ;)

As soon as I had finished the pair, I started to write the first draft for a pattern and now the socks are currently being tested. The test knit goes on until the end of May - so start thinking about which yarn and in colour you want to knit this pair ;)

Alles Liebe,

Nadine

The last project I want to show you was born because I wished for a thick pair of red socks all last winter. But somehow I didn't get to knit myself one. But I've done that now!

For this I used the Soft DK, a 6-ply yarn. Again, I had to knit this pair adding different knitting stitches and I really like how the socks turned out. After I had shown a picture of this pair on Instagram, it was clear, also here a pattern is needed. So I will sit down as soon as possible and make my notes understandable for you. I already have a name for it: Little Red Riding Hood

I'll probably knit socks with this yarn more often now. Not only are they knitted fast, they also warm incredibly well and on top of that they are cuddly soft. I definitely need more of them in my sock drawer :D

I hope your April was inspiring and you are already busy planning your May projects ;)

Keep in mind that the newsletter will be sent out tomorrow. I have something completely new planned and I am very curious what you think of it!

Have a wonderful week!

All the best,

Nadine
