Hallo meine Lieben,

diese Woche erwartet euch ein großes Shopupdate mit drei neuen Färbungen und dazu auch noch passenden einfarbigen Strängen!

Nummer 1 heißt Evocation, eine Färbung mit einer sanften hellgrauen Basis, auf der rote, gelbe und auberginefarbene Speckles sitzen. Passend dazu habe ich auch Herz Königin, Treasure und Midnight Hour gefärbt, wodurch ihr großartige Kombinationsmöglichkeiten für eure Strick- und Häkelprojekte habt. Die einfarbigen Stränge habe ich nur auf den Soft Socks gefärbt, doch Evocation findet ihr außer bei den Lacegarnen auf allen Garnqualitäten. Besonders gut macht sich diese Färbung in meinen Augen auch auf dicker Wolle - ihr solltet also unbedingt bei den DK und ARAN Garnen vorbeischauen ;)

This week you can expect a big shop update with three new colourways and matching solid and tonal skeins!

Number 1 is called Evocation, a colourway with a soft light grey base combined with red, yellow and aubergine speckles. I also dyed Herz Königin, Treasure and Midnight Hour to match, giving you great combinations for your knitting and crochet projects. I only dyed the solid colourways on my Soft Socks base, but you will find Evocation on all yarn bases except my lace yarns. In my eyes this colourway is especially good on thick wool - so you should definitely check out the DK and ARAN yarns ;)

 

Nummer 2 ist Rainy Weather, ein blaugrauer Ton, kombiniert mit braunen, gelben und petrolfarbenen Speckles. Auch diese Färbung findet ihr auf allen Garnen außer den Lacequalitäten. Passend dazu gibt es auf den Soft Socks noch Druid, Treasure und Thunder. Die Kombinationsmöglichkeiten sind nahezu endlos!

Ich selbst stricke mit dieser Farbe gerade ein einfacher Paar Sneaker Socken. Wenn ihr wollt, könnt ihr euch die ja mal auf meiner Ravelryprojektseite anschauen ;) Rainy Weather ist auf jeden Fall eine Farbe, die auch Männern gefällt!

Allerdings: Besonders gut sieht diese Färbung ja auch auf den Silver Glitter Bots aus ;)

 

Number 2 is Rainy Weather, a blue-grey tone combined with brown, yellow and teal coloured speckles. You will also find this colour on all yarns except the lace bases. On my Soft Socks you will also find are Druid, Treasure and Thunder. The combination possibilities are almost endless!

I myself knit a simple pair of sneaker socks with this colour. If you like, you can have a look at them on my project page on Ravelry ;) Rainy Weather is definitely a colour that men also like!

However: This colourway looks really good on my Silver Glitter Bots ;)

 

Zu guter Letzt die Nummer 3: Snuggly. Bei dieser Färbungen sitzen warme orange-, petrol- und auberginefarbene Speckles auf einer grauen Basis und ergeben zusammen ein sehr harmonisches Bild. Meiner Ansicht nach perfekt für Pullover geeignet! Auch Snuggly findet ihr auf all meinen Fingering sowie DK und ARAN Garnen. Passend dazu gibt es auf den Soft Socks außerdem Pumpkin, Midnight Hour und Druid.

Ich denke, diese Woche habt ihr wirklich eine gute Auswahl und könnt den heutigen Tag dazu nutzen, eure zukünftigen Projekte zu planen :)

Und wenn ihr es noch nicht mitbekommen habt: Ich brauche Platz für die neuen Färbungen und habe daher viele Stränge der Merino 100% DK stark reduziert ;)

Last but not least, number 3: Snuggly.

Warm orange, teak and aubergine coloured speckles sit on a grey base and together form a very harmonious image. In my opinion perfect for sweaters! You can also find Snuggly on all my fingering yarns as well as DK and ARAN yarns. Matching this new colourway, I also dyed Pumpkin, Midnight Hour and Druid on my Soft Socks base.

I think you have a really good selection this week and can spend today planning your future projects :)

And if you haven't noticed yet: I need space for the new colourways and have therefore reduced the price of many skeins of the Merino 100% DK ;)

Hallo meine Lieben,

dieses Jahr gab es schon so viel Neues, und morgen wartet da noch mehr auf euch! Wie einige von euch vielleicht schon mitbekommen haben, habe ich an einer neuen Anleitung gearbeitet: ABBON COWL. Morgen ist die Strickanleitung auf Deutsch und Englisch erhältlich, aber nicht nur das, auch die beiden Farben, die ich für meine Version verwendet habe, werden online gehen.

Aber der Reihe nach. Der ABBON COWL wird mit zwei Farben gestrickt. Ich habe dazu Ablaze und Bonfire auf meinen Soft Socks gewählt, da diese beiden Farben gut miteinander harmonieren. Bei der Farbwahl rate ich dazu, sich für ähnliche Farbnuancen zu entscheiden, um ein stimmiges Bild zu erzeugen. Besonders gut eigenen sich gespeckelte Färbungen, da man mit ihnen besonders gute Farbübergänge erzeugen kann. Doch auch mit einfarbigen Garnen sieht der Cowl bestimmt recht hübsch aus.

Der ABBON COWL kombiniert ein hübsches Ajourmuster mit Abschnitten, in denen die zwei Farben "gefaded" werden, also sanft miteinander verschmelzen und ineinander übergehen. Das Lochmuster besteht aus Umschlägen und verschiedenen Abnahmen und lässt sich auch gut im Gestrick ablesen. Wie man es arbeitet, zeigt euch in der Anleitung sowohl ein Chart als auch die ausgeschriebene Anweisung.

Gestrickt wird der ABBON COWL in der Runde auf einem 40cm (16'') Nadelseil und 3.5mm (US 4) Nadeln. Man braucht etwa 45g von Farbe A und 55g von Farbe B. Am Ende erhält man dann eine gute Größe von ca. 50cm (19.5'') Länge mit einem Umfang von etwa 56cm (22''). Beim Download der Anleitung erhaltet ihr sowohl die deutsche als auch die englische Fassung mit jeweils fünf DIN A 4 Seiten.

Und wer von euch Lust hat, den ABBON COWL mit den Originalfarben nachzustricken, der hat morgen ab 18.00 Uhr die Chance, sich die Stränge zu schnappen :)

This year there has been so much new stuff, and tomorrow there will be more waiting for you! As some of you may already know, I have been working on a new pattern: ABBON COWL. Tomorrow this knitting pattern will be available in German and English, but that's not all, also the two colourways I used for my verison will go online.

But one after the other. To knit the ABBON COWL you need two different colours. I chose Ablaze and Bonfire on my Soft Socks base, because these two colourways harmonize well eith each other. When choosing your colours, I advise you to choose similar colour nuances to create a harmonious image. Speckled colourways are particularly suitable, as they are perfect for colour melting. But even with solid yarns, the cowl certainly will look pretty.

The ABBON COWL combines a pretty lace pattern with sections in which the colours are faded, i.e. gently merge and merge into each other. The lace pattern is worked with yarn overs and various decreases and is easy to read in your knitted fabric. The pattern shows you how to work it in a chart or written instructions.

The ABBON COWL is worked in the round on 40cm (16'') circular needles and 3.5mm (US 4) needles. You need about 45g of colour A and 55g of colour B. At the end the cowl has a good size of about 50cm (19.5'') length with a circumference of 56cm (22''). When you download the pattern, you will receive both the German and the English version, each five DIN A 4 pages long.

And those of you who feel like knitting the ABBON COWL with the originial colourways I used, will have the chance to grap the skeins tomorrow at 6pm :)

 

 

 

Ablaze und Bonfire habe ich auf all meinen Garnqualitäten gefärbt und möchte sie unbedingt zusammen in den Shop stellen, weil man die beiden Farben sicherlich auch für andere Projekte gut miteinander kombinieren kann.

So könnte ich mir zum Beispiel sehr gut vorstellen, dass man sich je einen Strang der LACY MERINO SINGLES oder SILKY BFL LACE schnappt, den Faden doppelt nimmt und sich daraus beispielsweise Maude von Diana Mulholland strickt - ein schönes Sommertop, das ich schon einmal gestrickt habe und ich definitiv noch diesen wieder Monat anschlagen werde.

Auf meinen Garnen in Sockenwollstärke findet ihr Ablaze und Bonfire auf den BOT SOCKS, SOFT SOCKS, BFL SOCKS und den SILVER GLITTER BOTS. Natürlich möchte ich euch den Abbon Cowl ans Herz legen, aber spontan fallen mir auch die Pullis Breathing Space von Veera Välimäki ein (den ich mal dreifarbig gestrickt habe) oder der Zweig von Caitlin Hunter diese beiden Färbungen ein. Das Tuch Zorzal von Lisa Hannes oder die Socken Coffee Talk von Tracie Millar sehen in den Farben bestimmt auch großartig aus.

Für die SOFT DK und die MERINO 100% DK gibt es ja unglaublich viele Möglichkeiten: Der femininie Pulli Snowflake von tincanknits, das wunderschöne Tuch The Rain Outside von Sylvia McFadden oder aber auch der Dipsy Doodle Scarf mit einer dritten Farbe kombiniert.

Aus der MERINO 100% ARAN würde ich mir mit diesen Färbungen sofort die Mütze Selenia oder Alisanus stricken. Wer an einem größeren Projekt Interesse hat, kann sich ja mal den Tash Sweater von Lindsay Inouye anschauen, ein sehr spannendes Design!

Hach, ich könnte euch vermutlich noch tausende Ideen präsentieren, aber ich bin mir sicher, dass ihr eure eigene lange Liste an Projekten habt, die ihr gerne mal anfangen möchtet :)

I have dyed Ablaze and Bonfire on all my yarn bases and absolutely watnted to put them together in the shop, because you can combine these two colourways for many other projects.

For example, I could very well imagine my LACY MERINO SINGLES or SILKY BFL LACE bases, holding the thread double and knitting Maude by Diana Mulholland - a beautiful summer top that I have knitted before and I am definitely going to cast on another one this month.

On my fingering weight yarns you will Ablaze and Bonfire on my BOT SOCKS, SOFT SOCKS, BFL SOCKS and my SILVER GLITTER BOTS. Of course I would like to recommend to knit the Abbon Cowl, but spontaneously I also can think of the sweaters Breathing Space by Veera Välimäki (which I knitted in three colours last year) or Zweig by Caitlin Hunter using these two colourways. The shawl Zorzal by Lisa Hannes or the socks Coffee Talk by Tracie Millar certailnly look great in Ablaze and Bonfire, too.

For my SOFT DK and MERINO 100% DK there are incredibly many possibilities: The feminie sweater Snowflake by tincanknits, the beautiful shawl The Rain Outside by Sylvia McFadden or maybe the Dipsy Doodle Scarf combined with a third colour.

With the MERINO 100% ARAN I would immediately knit myself the hat Selenia or Alisanus. If you are interested in a largar project for this yarn base, you should have a look at the Tash Sweater by Lindsay Inouye, a very exciting design!

Well, I could probably presend you thousands of more ideas, but I am sure you have your own long list of projects you would like to start :)

Hallo meine Lieben,

als Doreen aka Mrsmumpitz davon erzählte, dass sie 2019 den USE WHAT YOU HAVE KAL, einen ganzjährigen Knitalong, in ihrer Ravelrygruppe startet, bei dem es nicht nur darum geht den eigenen Wollvorrat abzubauen, sondern auch nach Anleitungen zu häkeln und zu stricken, die man schon ewig hat, aber eben noch nie gearbeitet hat, fiel mir sofort der Baa-ble Hat von Donna Smith ein.

Ich denke, viele von euch kennen die Anleitung für diese süße Schäfchenmustermütze. Als die Anleitung 2015 herauskam, habe ich sie mir sofort abgespeichert, aber warum auch immer, ich bin nie dazu gekommen, mir diese Mütze zu stricken. Praktischerweise hatte ich mir zum Testen von meinem Lieferanten Atelier Zitron die Gobi bestellt. Nicht nur, dass dieses Garn mit 80m auf 50g die perfekte Lauflänge hat, von der Zusammensetzung war ich von Anfang an begeistert: 40% Merino extrafein, 30% Royal Alpaka und 30% Babykamel. Es ist kuschlig weich und angenehm auf der Haut und für das Fair Isle Stricken einfach perfekt geeignet!

Im Januar habe ich also die Anleitung herausgekramt, die Farben ausgesucht, die mir am besten gefielen, aber der Monat war doch recht ereignisreich und ich bin einfach nicht zum Anschlagen gekommen. Allerdings habe ich im Januar beim Etikettieren meiner Garne einige der älteren Folgen des Fruity Knitting Podcasts angeschaut und in einer Folge erklärt Andrea, dass sie ihre Mütze nach den Modifikationen von Susan B. Anderson gestrickt hat. Die Änderung ist nicht gravierend, erleichtert das Stricken aber ungemein. Solltet ihr euch also auch einen Baa-ble Hat stricken wollen, dann empfehle ich euch diesen Blogpost sehr.

Um die Mütze zu stricken, braucht ihr insgesamt vier Farben. Zwei sind eigentlich schon vorgegeben, denn die Schäfchen sind weiß und schwarz. Für den unteren Teil habe ich von der Gobi Farbe das dunkle Lila, Farbe 32, und den zarten Fliederton, Farbe 33, für den oberen Teil gewählt. Gestrickt wird die Mütze dann in der Runde auf 4.0mm und 4.5mm Nadeln. Dementsprechend schnell kommt man auch voran. Der Teil für das Bündchen ist recht lang, da man es am Ende umschlagen soll. Und dann beginnt auch schon der Spaß und die Schafe entstehen nach und nach. Ich verspreche euch, bei diesem Teil wollt ihr das Strickzeug nicht aus den Händen geben :) Nach wenigen Runden ist sie da, die Schafsherde.

Im oberen Teil wird auch noch ein wenig Fair Isle gestrickt und der Eindruck entsteht, dass es schneit. Gleichzeitig beginnt man schon mit den Abnahmen und ehe man sich versieht, ist sie auch schon fast fertig, die Schäfchenmütze. Nicht ganz, denn ein wichtiges Detail fehlt noch: Der Bommel! Dafür habe ich die beiden Lilatöne verwendet. Ich mache meine Pompoms immer mit zwei Stück runder Pappe wie hier im Video zu sehen ist. So ein Bommel verbraucht immer ganz schön Wolle, aber damit er schön wird, sollte man da auch nicht sparen. Insgesamt habe ich für die Mütze 102g Wolle verbraucht, 50g Dunkellila, 33g Fliederton, 15g weiß und gerade mal 4g schwarz. Ja, damit hab ich noch genug Garn für mehr Schäfchen übrig :) Und wenn ich mir die Farben der Gobi, die es noch so gibt, anschaue, fallen mir da auch noch viele Möglichkeiten ein!

Sowohl die Anleitung Baa-Ble Hat von Donna Smith als auch die Wolle Gobi von Atelier Zitron kann ich nur empfehlen. Was das Garn betrifft, so könnt ihr mitentscheiden: Hättet ihr Interesse daran, dass ich dieses Garn in meinen Shop aufnehme? Es wäre ein weiterer Kandidat für die Kategorie ARAN und mal eine wirklich gelungene Garnzusammensetzung wie ich finde. Auch die Farbauswahl der Gobi ist nicht schlecht. When Doreen aka Mrsmumpitz told me that in 2019 she would run the USE WHAT YOU HAVE KAL, a year-round knit along, in her Ravelry group, which is not only about reducing your yarn stash, but also about crocheting and knitting according to patterns that you have had in your library for ages, I immediately thought of the Baa-ble Hat by Donna Smith.

I thing many of you know this pattern for that hat with this cute sheep. When the pattern was released in 2015, I downloaded and printed it out right away, but for whatever reason, I never got around to knitting it. Fortunately, I had ordered the yarn Gobi from my supplier Atelier Zitron to try out this yarn base. Not only did this yarn have the perfect yardage with 80m per 50g, I was also thrilled by its composition right from the start: 40% Merino extra fine, 30% Royal Alpaca and 30% Baby Camel. It is super soft and pleasant on the skin and just perfect for Fair Isle knitting!

So in January, I picked out the pattern, chose the colours that I liked best, but the month was quite eventful and I just couldn't get it to touch. However, while labelling my yarns, I watched some ot the older episodes of the Fruity Knitting podcast and in one episode Andrea explains that she knitted her version after Susan B. Anderson's modifications. The changes are not huge, but they make knitting a lot easier. If you also want to knit a Baa-ble Hat, I highly recommend this blog post.

To knit the hat, you need a total of four colours. Two are already given, because the sheep are white and black. For the lower part of the hat I have chosen the dark purple, colour 32, and lilac, colour 33, for the upper part. The hat is worked in the round on 4.0mm and 4.5mm needles. It is a quick knit. The part for the brim is quite long, because as you can see in the pictures, the hat is worn with a folded brim. And then the fun part begins and the sheep gradually appear. I promise, at this point, you do not want do give your knitting out of your hands :) After a few rounds you can see it, the herd of sheep.

In the upper part there is still a little bit of Fair Isle knitting going on and you get the impression that it is snowing. At the same time you start with the crown decreases and before you know it, your sheep hat is almost finished. Almost, one important detail is still missing: The pompom! For mine I used the purple and lilac colour. I always make my pompoms using two pieces of round cardboard as you can see here in the video. Such a pompom always consumes a lot ot yarn, but in order to make it beautiful, you need a lot of yarn. All in all I used up 102g of yarn for this hat, 50g of the purple, 33g of lilac, 15g white and just 4g black. Yes, I still have enough yarn left for more sheep :) And when I look at all the colours of Gobi, I can see a lot of possibilities!

I can only recommend the pattern Baa-ble Hat by Donna Smith as well as the yarn base Gobi by Atelier Zitron. As far as the yarn is concerned, you can have a say: Would you be interested in this yarn base? If would be another candidate for the category ARAN and it has such a wonderful yarn composition as I think. I also really like all the colours you can get. Hallo meine Lieben,

wer mir auf Instagram folgt oder meinen Newsletter abonniert hat, der weiß, dass ich für euch eine neue Anleitung habe. Da die Let me be your Valentine Sockenanleitung sehr beliebt ist (findet da irgendwo ein Knitalong statt? diese Woche ist die Downloadzahl enorm gestiegen!), habe ich passend zu dieser Sockenanleitung nun auch die Valentine Mitts für euch, eine kostenlose Anleitung für ein Paar fingerlose Handschuhe.

Ja, auch diese Anleitung biete ich kostenlos an. Doch ich möchte darauf hinweisen, dass das nicht selbstverständlich ist, denn auch in einer freien Anleitung steckt jede Menge Arbeit. Nur mit eurer Unterstützung ist es mir überhaupt möglich, euch kostenlose Anleitungen zur Verfügung zu stellen. Deswegen ist es natürlich umso wichtiger für mich und damit auch für euch, wenn ihr für diese Projekte meine handgefärbten Garne verwendet und auf den sozialen Medien darauf hinweist, woher ihr die Anleitung habt. Warum ich darauf so explizit hinweise? Weil es in letzter Zeit leider öfter vorgekommen ist, dass die Anleitungen nur heruntergeladen werden, um sie dann als eigene Idee auszugeben. Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, dass so etwas in meiner Magengegend ein sehr ungutes Gefühl auslöst. Leider ist das Internet ein geeigneter Ort für Missbrauch, aber hoffentlich doch auch, um uns zu vernetzen, unsere Leidenschaft zu teilen und dabei fair und gerecht zu bleiben.

Gestrickt werden die Valentine Mitts auf einem 2.75mm Nadelspiel und dafür braucht ihr ca. 30-40g meiner Soft Socks. Für mein Paar habe ich eine der 24 neuen Färbungen verwendet: Cocktail Party. Und diese Färbung gibt es morgen im Shop auf all meinen Garnqualitäten. Ja, richtig gehört, ihr findet die Färbung auf all meinen Lacegarnen, den Garnen in Sockenwollstärke, DK-Stärke und auch auf der Merino 100% ARAN. Dadurch habt ihr natürlich die Möglichkeit euch noch ein passendes Winterset zu stricken: Die Valentine Mitts mit den Soft Socks, eine passende Mütze aus der ARAN und dazu noch ein passender Schal aus der Soft DK? All das ist möglich :)

If you follow me on Instagram or have subscribes to my newsletter, you already know that I have a new pattern for you. Since the Let me be your Valentine sock pattern is very popular (is there a knit along taking place somewhere? this week the number of downloads has increased enormously!), I now have the Valentine Mitts for you, a free pattern for a pair of fingerless gloves to match these socks.

Yes, I also offer this pattern for free. But I would like to point out that this is not self-evident, because there is a lot of work in every single design. Only with your support is it possible for me to provide you with free patterns. Therefore it is of course all the more important for me and therefore for you to you use my hand dyed yarns for these projects and when you show your projects on social media to tell where you got the pattern from. Why do I point this out so explicitly? Because unfortunately it has happened more often in recent times that the patterns are only downloaded to be presented as their own ideas. You can imagine that this makes me feel miserable. Unfortunately the internet is a great place for abuse, but hopefully it is also a place where we can connect, share our passion and be fair and just.

The Valentine Mitts are knitted on a set of 2.75mm double pointed needles and you need about 30-40g of my Soft Socks. For my pair I used one of the 24 new colourways: Cocktail Party. And this colourway will be available tomorrow in the shop on all my yarn bases. Yes, that's true, you'll find this colourway on all my lace yarns, fingering weight yarns, DK yarns and also on my Merino 100% ARAN base. die Nachfrage nach der INFINITO steigt und ich verstehe absolut warum! Dieses großartige Garn mit einer Lauflänge von 500m auf 100g setzt sich aus 100% extrafeiner Merinowolle zusammen und ist daher unglaublich weich! Und dann gibt es diese kuschelige Wolle auch noch in fünf verschiedenen Farben!

Die Wolle kommt als Strang zu euch und am Anfang jedes Stranges, ist der Faden weiß und ungefärbt. Dort beginnt der stufenlose Farbverlauf von dunkel zu hell. Wenn man dieses ungefärbte Teilstück entfernt, verbleiben immer noch 100g auf dem Strang und daraus lässt sich eine Menge zaubern.

Im Shop findet ihr nun drei Anleitungen, die eigens für die INFINITO entworfen wurden. Da es sich nicht um meine Anleitungen handelt, sind sie allerdings nur auf Deutsch erhältlich.

Rechts im Bild sehr ihr das asymmetrische Tuch nach einer Anleitung von Gisela Klöpper. Um es nachzustricken, braucht ihr nur einen Strang der INFINITO in eurer Lieblingsfarbe, und eine Rundstricknadel in der Stärke 3.5mm. Am Ende erhaltet ihr ein wunderschönes Dreieckstuch mit einem herrlichen Farbverlauf, das etwa 95cm in der Länge und 67cm in der Breite misst.

 

Hello everybody,

The demand for the INFINITO is increasing and I absolutely understand why! This great yarn with a 500m per 100g skein is made of 100% extra fine merino wool and is therefore incredibly soft! And this cuddly yarn is also available in five different colours!

The yarn comes as a skein to you and at the beginning of each skein, the thread is white and undyed. There the continuous colour gradient starts from dark to light. If you remove this undyed part, 100g still remain on the skein and you can create lots of different things with it.

In the shop you will now find three patterns that have been specially designed for INFINITO. As these are not my patterns, they are only available in German.

On the right you can see the asymmetrical shawl according to the pattern of Gisela Klöpper. To knit it, all you need is a skein of INFINITO in your favourite colour and a circular knitting needle size 3.5mm. At the end you'll get a pretty triangular shawl with a beautiful colour gradient, measuring about 95cm in length and 67cm in width.

 

Eine weitere Anleitung für ein herrliches Tuch stammt von Christine Nöller (links im Bild). Dieses Tuch wird an der oberen Mitte begonnen und erhält eine flache bis halbrunde Form.

Hier kommt der Farbverlauf gleich zweimal zur Geltung. Das Tuch hat fertig gestrickt eine wunderbare Größe von etwa 170cm x 65cm. Dementsprechend benötigt ihr dafür 2 Stränge der INFINITO in eurer Lieblinsfarbe und eine Rundstricknadel in der Stärke 4.0mm.

Schaut am besten auf der Anleitungsseite vorbei, dort findet ihr noch ein weiteres Bild des Tuchs. Auch diese Anleitung gibt es nur auf Deutsch.

Jetzt habt ihr schon zwei Ideen und zwei kostenlose (!) Anleitungen für dieses Garn. Das war aber noch nicht alles!

 

A second pattern for a wonderful shawl is designed by Christine Nöller (picture on the left). This cloth is started at the upper middle and gets a flat to semicircular shape.

Here the colour gradient comes into play twice. The finished shawl has a great size of about 170cm x 65cm. Accordingly, you will need 2 skeins of INFINITO in your favourite colour and a size 4.0mm circular needle.

Have a look at the pattern page, there you will find another picture of the shawl. This pattern is also only available in German.

Now you already have two ideas and two free (!) patterns for this yarn. But that's not all!

 

 

 

Zuletzt möchte ich noch die Tunika zeigen, die mit der INFINITO gestrickt, einfach nur wunderschön aussieht! Auch diese Anleitung stammt von Gisela Klöpper und ist nur auf Deutsch verfügbar. Sie erklärt euch, wie man dieses Kleidungsstück in den Größen 32/34, 36/38 und 40/42 strickt.

Die Tunika wurde so entworfen, dass dafür vier Stränge der INFINITO ausreichend sind. Gestrickt wird dieses vielseitig einsetzbare Kleidungsstück mit doppeltem Faden auf 5.5mm Nadeln. Man arbeitet Vorderteil und Rückenteil getrennt voneinander und fügt dann die beiden Teile zusammen. Hält man sich an die Anleitung, erhält man eine Tunika mit einem wunderschönen Farbverlauf, der unten dunkel beginnt und oben hell endet.

 

Last but not least, I would like to show you the tunic, knitted with the INFINITO, which just looks beautiful! These instructions are also by Gisela Klöpper and are only available in German. The pattern explains how to knit this garment in sizes 32/34, 36/38 and 40/42.

The tunic was designed so that four skeins of the INFINITO are sufficient. This versatile garment is knitted holding the yarn doubled on 5.5mm needles. It is worked flat, so you first knit the front and then the back before you sew the pieces together. If you follow the instructions you will get a tunic with a beautiful colour gradient that starts dark at the bottom and ends light at the top.

 

Februar wird mein INFINITO Monat werden!

Ich habe gestern zwei Projekte damit angefangen und kann es nicht erwarten, euch mehr zu zeigen. Die blaue Wolle verwende ich für einen Schal mit Zopfmuster und da bin ich wegen des Farbverlaufs schon ein wenig vorfreudig :) Das rote Garn ist dazu bestimmt eines Tages ein Poncho zu werden. Ich sag es euch, mit diesem Garn zu stricken, ist einfach nur ein Traum! Ihr müsst es unbedingt aufprobieren!

Morgen um 17 Uhr habe ich ein kleines Shopupdate und dann sind auch wieder alle fünf Farben erhältlich. Verpasst es nicht!

February will be my INFINITO month!

I started two projects yesterday and cannot wait to show you more. I am using the blue colour to knit a cabled scarf and I am very excited to see the gradient :) The red yarn is dedicated to become a poncho one day. I'm telling you, knitting with this yarn is simply a dream! You need to try it out!

Hallo meine Lieben,

ich habe mir für dieses Jahr vorgenommen, genauer festzuhalten, was ich eigentlich alles handarbeite, damit ich auch in einigen Monaten sehen kann, was bei mir zu Hause alles so entsteht. Den Überblick zu behalten ist nämlich gar nicht so einfach, wenn die Grenzen von Arbeit und Freizeit derart fließend sind, wie es bei mir der Fall ist.

Weil ich denke, dass euch vielleicht auch interessieren könnte, was bei mir in einem Monat so alles entstanden ist und ich auch nicht alles auf Instagram oder Ravelry zeige, gibt es heute einen kleinen Einblick in meinen Januar.

For this year I have set myself the goal of recording more precisely what I actually create and craft, so that in a few months I will be able to see what I manage to make at home. It's not easy to keep track of things when the boundaries between work and leisure are as fluid as they are in my case.

Because I think that you might also be interested in what I have created and made in a month and I do not show everything on Instagram or Ravelry, I give you a little insight into my January today.

 

 

Ganz am Anfang des Monats hatte ich ja ein paar Tage frei. Aber natürlich konnte ich die Finger nicht von den Färbetöpfen lassen und habe mich mal am Pflanzenfärben probiert, nachdem ich meine Kenntnisse zu diesem Thema mal wieder ein bisschen aufgefrischt hatte. Also hab ich Avocados gekauft, ganz viel Guacamole gemacht und am nächsten Tag die Schalen und Kerne im Topf lange köcheln lassen.

Hier muss man schon ziemlich geduldig sein, denn bis sich das Wasser verfärbt, dauert es eine ganze Weile. Oder man schnappt sich eben Stricksachen und schaut ab und zu in den Topf, ob noch alles in Ordnung ist.

Nachdem sich das Wasser rötlich braun verfärbt hatte und ich alle Avocatoteile herausgefischt hatte, habe ich zwei Stränge eines Merinosinglegarns in den Topf gegeben und wieder geduldig gewartet, bis das Wasser vollständig abgekühlt war. Heraus kamen zwei wunderschöne Stränge in einem zarten Apricotton.

Auf jeden Fall möchte ich diese Art des Färbens nochmal Ausprobieren, denn mit dem Ergebnis bin ich sehr zufrieden. Wenn auch diese Thematik auch interessiert, dann durchforstet einfach mal das Internet dazu ;)

 

At the very beginning of the month I had a few days off. But of course I couldn't keep my hands off the dye pots and tried my hand at natural dyeing, after I had refreshed my knowledge on this subject a bit. So I bought avocados, made a lot of guacamole and the next day I let the avocado skins and pits simmer in the pot for a long time.

Here you have to be quite patient, because it takes quite a while until the colour of the water changes. Or you just grab some knitting and look into the pot from time to time to see if everything is still okay.

After the colour of the water hat turned into a deep maroonand I had fished out all the avocato skins and pits, I put two skeins of a merino single yarn into the pot and waited patiently again until the water had cooled down completely. The result was two beautiful skeins in a delicate apricot shade.

In any case, I would like to try this way of dyeing again, because I am very satisfied with the result. If this topic is also interesting, then just browse the internet ;)

 

Die freien Tage hatten mir auf jeden Fall gut getan, denn in meinem Kopf schwirrten so viele neue Ideen, die ich am liebsten alle sofort umsetzen wollte. Natürlich klappt das gar nicht, insbesondere wenn es sich bei den vielen Ideen um Designs handelt, bei denen ich gewissenhaft an die Sache gehen muss.

Gleich am 1. Januar habe ich mir zwei meiner neuen Färbungen geschnappt, aus denen ich unbedingt einen neuen Cowl entwerfen wollte: Ablaze und Bonfire, die einfach perfekt miteinander harmonieren.

Mir schwebte ein Design vor, bei dem die Farben fließend ineinander übergehen und der Cowl durch ein einfaches Lacemuster eine verspielte Leichtigkeit erhält. Am Ende hatte ich schließlich genau das erreicht, was ich mir vorgestellt hatte. Im Februar wird es die Anleitung sowie die neuen Färbungen geben. Ich freu mich schon darauf!

 

The free days were definitely good for me, because I got so many new ideas and of course I just wanted to realise all of them immediately. But we all know, that doesn't work at all, especially if most of these ideas are for new designs which means I have to be attentive and conscientiously.

On January 1st, I grabbed two of my new colourways, I absolutely wanted to use to design a new cowl: Ablaze and Bonfire, which simply harmonize perfectly with each other.

I had in mind a design where the colours merge smoothly and the cowl is given a playful lightness by a simple lace pattern. In the end, I had achieved exactly what I had imagined. In February there will be the pattern as well as these new colourways. I'm looking forward to it!

 

Damit aber noch nicht genug. Schon lange hatte ich mir vorgenommen, die Let me be your Valentine Anleitung zu überarbeiten und wer gestern online war, weiß, dass ich die überarbeite Version wieder kostenlos online gestellt habe und es die erste neue Färbung, Bubblegum, im Shop gab, mit der ich meine Valentinstagssocken gestrickt habe.

Ein wenig habe ich mich damit ja schon unter Druck gesetzt, aber ich musste einfach ein neues Paar stricken, weil ich für die Anleitung unbedingt auch neue Bilder wollte. Ich denke, ihr seht jetzt, was ich am Anfang damit meinte, dass es bei mir keine klare Linie zwischen Arbeit und Privat gibt: Arbeite ich nun, wenn ich abends stricke oder ist das Freizeit?

 

But that's not all. For a long time I had planned to edit the pattern Let me be your Valentine and who was online yesterday knows that I put the updated version online again for free and that there was the first new colourway, Bubblegum, in the shop with which I knitted my Valentine's Day socks.

I put some pressure on myself, but I just had to knit a new pair, because I wanted new pictures for the pattern. I think you can see now what I meant at the beginning when I said that there is no clear line between work and private life: Do I work when I knit in the evening or is it leisure time?

 

 

Und dann kommen bei mir diese Geistesblitze und spontanen Ideen. Als ich wusste, dass ich ein Paar Valentinstagssocken stricken möchte, stand auch gleich fest, dass ich passend dazu eine neue Anleitung herausbringen will. Mit dem gleichen Muster wird es im Februar nun die Valentine Mitts geben. Gestrickt habe ich sie in einer weiteren neuen Färbung, Cocktail Party, die es dann auch erstmalig im Februar geben wird.

Wie ihr euch denken könnt, ist es mit dem Stricken eines neuen Designs auch nicht getan. Ich muss meine Notizen in eine Anleitung verwandeln, gute Fotos machen, das Layout entwerfen und jeden Satz mehrfach überprüfen beziehungsweise überprüfen lassen. Und damit ihr die Anleitung auch mit der Originalwolle stricken könnt, steht natürlich noch Färben auf dem Programm. Es dauert also immer ein bisschen, bis es die Anleitung dann tatsächlich gibt.

 

And then I get these flashes of inspiration and spontaneous ideas. When I knew that I wanted to knit a pair of Valentine's Day socks, it was immediately clear that I wanted to bring out a new manual to match. With the same pattern there will be the Valentine Mitts in February. I knitted it in another new colouring, Cocktail Party, which will be available for the first time in February.

As you can imagine, just knitting a new design is not enough. I have to turn my notes into a pattern, take good photos, design the layout and check or have each checked each sentence several times. And because all of my patterns are written for my own hand dyed yarns, there is also a lot of dyeing to do in order to offer you the original yarn. So it always takes a little while until the pattern actually can be released. 

 

Ich denke, wir alle können ein Lied davon singen: Wollreste! Davon habe ich jede Menge und ich behandel sie keineswegs als ungeliebte Reste, ich muss sie verarbeiten. Außerdem habe ich ein ganz einfaches Projekt für Zwischendurch gebraucht und so habe ich ein simples Paar Socken aus den Soft Socks in den Färbungen Party All Night und Caramel Camel gestrickt.

Als ich daran arbeitete musste ich ein wenig lachen, denn genau diese Farbkombination hatte ich schonmal für die Shilly Shally Socks verwendet. Die passen aber auch gut zusammen, die Farben!

 

I think we all can tell a thing or two about it: yarn leftovers! I have a lot of them but I really do not like to treat them as unbeloved leftovers, I have to use them. Plus, I also needed a very simple project for in between and so I knitted a simple pair of socks using my Soft Socks in the colourways Party All Night and Caramel Camel.

When I was working on it, I had to laugh a little because it was exactly this colour combination that I had used for the Shilly Shally Socks. No big surprise, these colours go so well together!

 

 

Stichwort Reste: Beim Sortieren meiner Wollreste musste ich auch wieder an meine Cozy Memories Blanket denken. Irgendwie sollte die ja schon auch mal fertig werden und eigentlich ist so ein Quadrat ja auch schnell gestrickt! Zwischendurch ist also mal immer wieder eins dazu gekommen und als ich heute nachgezählt habe, war ich doch recht erstaunt, dass es tatsächlich zehn zusätzliche geworden sind.

Damit habe ich nun 9x10 Quadrate, also 90 Stück. Da eins davon ca. 11.5x11.5 cm misst, ist meine Decke demnach schon einen guten Meter breit und über einen Meter lang. Das reicht mir aber noch lange nicht. Ich werde das gute Stück jetzt einfach immer auf der Couch liegen lassen, damit die Decke in der kalten Jahreszeit noch ein ganzes Stück wächst. Solange sie nämlich nicht fertig ist, habe ich mir selbst verboten, eine neue Decke anzuschlagen.

 

Keyword leftovers: When sorting my stash and leftovers I had to think again of my Cozy Memories Blanket. Sometime it should finally be finished and actually such a square is knitted fast! So in between I added a square and when I counted all of them today, I was quite surprised that I managed to make ten additional ones this month.

Now I have 9x10 squares, so a total of 90 of them. Since one of them measures about 11.5x11.5 cm, my blanket is already a good meter wide and over a meter long. But that's not enough for me yet. From now on the blanket simply stays on my sofa so that it can grow during the cold season. As long as it is not finished, I have forbidden myself to start a new blanket.

 

 

 

Und damit sind wir auch schon bei einem ganz neuen Projekt, bei dem ich ehrlich gesagt gar nicht so genau weiß, was es eigentlich werden soll. Insgesamt habe ich im Januar also gleich vier der neuen Färbungen verstrickt: Bubblegum, Cocktail Party, Ablaze und Bonfire. Und aus jeder Färbung habe ich ein kleines Muster gestrickt, damit man eine Vorstellung hat, wie die Färbungen verarbeitet aussehen können.

Nun habe ich also vier Quadrate, von denen jedes 16x16cm misst. So lange ich mir einrede, dass ich nicht weiß, was daraus werden soll, habe ich mich auch an meinen Vorsatz gehalten, keine neue Decke anzuschlagen, oder?

 

And that brings us to a completely new project, where I honestly don't know exactly what it's going to be. All in all, I worked with four of the new colourways in January: Bubblegum, Cocktail Party, Ablaze and Bonfire. And with each one I made a small swatch so that you could get an idea of how the colourways could look knitted up.

Now I have four squares, each measuring 16x16cm. As long as I tell myself that I don't know what to make of it, I've kept to my resolution not cast on a new blanket, haven't I?

 

 

Mehr gestrickt, habe ich nicht, aber ich denke, das ist für einen Monat auch eine gute Menge, oder nicht? Woran ich an manchen Abenden allerdings noch gesessen bin, sind zwei Designs, die schon fertig gestrickt sind, aber die Anleitungen noch nicht fertig sind.

Zum einem ist das der Winterpullover im Fair Isle Muster, den ihr vielleicht schon gesehen habt. Hierfür braucht man drei Farben meiner Merino 100% ARAN und meine Teststricker sind noch fleißig am Stricken, aber es sollte nicht mehr so lange dauern, bis es die Anleitung dann geben wird. Gut Ding will Weile haben, richtig?

 

That's all I have knitted in Janauary, but I think that's a good amount for a month too, isn't it? What I've been sitting on some nights are two designs that are already knitted, but the patterns aren't finished yet.

One is the winter sweater in the Fair Isle pattern, which you may have already seen. For this you need three colours of my Merino 100% ARAN and my test knitters are still busy knitting, but it shouldn't take that long until the pattern will be available. Good thing takes time, right?

 

Ganz heimlich habe ich noch ein Tuchdesign, an dem ich schon ein wenig länger arbeite. Da mit der Fall der BFL Socks besonders gut gefällt, habe ich mich für diese Garnbasis entschieden. Fertig gestrickt ist es schon länger und wie euch das Bild zeigt, habe ich darin die verschiedensten Stricktechniken miteinander kombiniert.

Allerdings fehlt mir momentan irgendwie die Zeit, mich hinzusetzen und die Anleitung zu schreiben. Aber ich hoffe, dass ich den Erstentwurf bald fertig habe, damit sich meine Teststricker dran machen können. Es war aber auf jeden Fall nicht das letzte Mal, das ihr dieses Tuch gesehen habt.

 

There is also on a new shawl design on which I secretly have been working a little longer. Since the drape of the BFL Socks is particularly appealing, I decided on this yarn base. The shawl has been knitted for quite some time now and as the picture shows you, I have combined various knitting techniques in it.

But at the moment I don't have the time to sit down and write the pattern. But I hope that I will have the first draft ready soon so that my test knitters can get started. But it definitely wasn't the last time you saw this shawl.

 

 

Den Monat beende ich nun tatsächlich mit leeren Nadeln! Ein seltener, vielleicht noch nie da gewesener Moment! Aber das kommt mir ganz gelegen, denn ich brenne darauf neue Projekte anzuschlagen :)

Der Januar neigt sich dem Ende zu und nun ist es wirklich an der Zeit, dass ich die erste meiner 24 neuen Färbungen in den Shop bringe. Wer meinen Blog fleißig liest oder mir auf Instagram folgt, der weiß, dass ich dieses Jahr eine Menge für Valentinstag geplant habe. Besonders wichtig war es mir, meine erste Sockenanleitung, die ich vor drei Jahre veröffentlicht habe, zu überarbeiten. January is coming to an end and not it is really time for me to bring the first of my 24 new colourways into the shop. If you read my blog regularly or follow me on Instagram, you know I have planned a lot for Valentine's Day this year. It was especially important to me to edit my first sock pattern that I published three years ago. I know, a few of you have emailed me about why the pattern is currently not available. I did my best to get the pattern back to you as soon as possible. Now Let me be your Valentine also contains descriptions of how to knit the heel and toe. And that is, following the release of the I wanna hold your hand mitts, my second Valentine's Day present for you, then despite extensive revision, the Let me be your Valentine pattern will remain free.

 

 

Da ich die Anleitung auch unbedingt mit neuen Bildern versorgen wollte, musste ich natürlich auch ein neues Paar Valentinstagssocken stricken. Since I wanted to provide the pattern with new pictures, I had to knit a new pair of Valentine's Day socks. The choice of colour was quite easy, because of the 24 new shades Bubblegum was perfect! And so the decision was made which of the new colourways would make its first appearance in the shop. Tomorrow at 4pm German time you can find bubblegum on ALL yarn bases.

Hallo meine Lieben,

als ich gestern dieses Bild auf Instagram gepostet habe, haben die ersten erfahren, dass ich dieses Jahr gleich zwei Valentinstagsfärbungen für euch habe. Ich hatte ja eigentlich vor, euch die Valentinstagsfarben 2019 gar nicht zu zeigen und daraus ein Überraschungsset zu machen, aber ich bin so begeistert von den Farben, dass ich sie einfach schon zeigen muss!

Die Färbung, die ihr oben im Bild sehen könnt, heißt "One and only". Als Basis habe ich mich hierfür für einen magentavioletten Ton etschieden, der mit den dunklen auberinefarbenen Speckles wunderschön aussieht.

Dazu passend habe ich "Love is in the air" gefärbt, den ihr unten im Bild sehen könnt. Hier sitzen magentaviolette Speckles auf einer zartrosa Basis.

Die beiden Färbungen passen so gut zusammen, dass man sie eigentlich zusammen verstricken muss.

When I posted this picture on Instagram yesterday, the first of you found out that I have two Valentine's Day colourways for you this year. I didn't intend to show you the Valentine's Day colours 2019 and make a surprise set out of them, but I'm so excited about these colours that I just have to show them!

The colourway you can see at the top of the picture is called "One and only". As base I chose a magenta violet tone, which looks beautiful with the dark auberine coloured speckles.

In additon I dyed "Love is in the air", which you can see at the bottom of the picture. Here you have magenta violet speckles on a delicate pink base.

The two colourways match so well that you have to use them together in one project, I think.

 

Diese beiden Färbungen werden morgen Abend als Set für 35,00 € (inkl. MwSt, zzgl. Versand) erhältlich sein. Das Angebot findest du sowohl bei den Soft Socks als auch bei den besonderen Angeboten.

Hallo meine Lieben,

morgen um 17.00 Uhr habe ich ein Shopupdate und dieses Mal habe ich etwas ganz Neues für euch: Soft Socks Sets!

Letztes Jahr im November habe ich das erste Mal die Bot Socks Sets angeboten und diese Idee ist bei euch ganz toll angekommen. Ein paar von euch haben mich gefragt, ob ich solche Sets nicht auch mit meiner Soft Socks Wolle in den Shop packen könnte. Da ich, wie ihr wisst, immer bemüht bin, all eure Wünsche zu erfüllen, gibt es ab morgen auch Soft Socks Sets!

Ein solches Set besteht aus einem 100g Strang mit einem farblich dazu passenden 20g Ministrang. Diese Sets eignen sich perfekt zum Sockenstricken, da ihr den Mini für Bündchen, Ferse und Spitze verwenden könnt. Außerdem sind diese Sets natürlich ein schönes Geschenk für andere Strickbegeisterte.

Auf dem Bild könnt ihr die insgesamt neun verschiedenen Farbkombinationen sehen, die ich für euch zusammen gestellt habe. Ich bin gespannt, welche Sets euch am besten gefallen.

Tomorrow at 5pm German time I will have a shop update and this time I have something completely new for you: Soft Socks Sets!

Last year in November I offered my Bot Socks Sets for the very first time and this idea was very well appreciated. Some of you asked me if I could make such sets with my Soft Socks yarn base and bring them into the shop. Since, as you know, I always try to fulfill all your wishes, there will be Soft Socks sets available tomorrow!

Such a set consists of a 100g skein with a matching 20g mini skein. These sets are perfect for knitting socks, because you can use the mini for cuffs, heels and toes. These sets are also a great gift for other knitting enthusiasts.

Hallo meine Lieben,

wie viele von euch ja schon im Januar-Newsletter gelesen haben, habe ich für Valentinstag jede Menge Pläne. Morgen mache ich den Anfang und stelle euch meine neue kostenlose Anleitung I wanna hold your hand zur Verfügung. Diese Strickanleitung ist für ein einfaches Paar fingerlose Handschuhe. Um ein solches Paar zu stricken, benötigst du je nach Größe nur etwa 30-40g meiner Soft Socks und ein 3.0mm Nadelspiel.

Diese Anleitung ist als Basisanleitung zu verstehen, die dir erklärt, wie man ein Paar fingerlose Handschuhe mit Garn in Sockenwollstärke strickt. Nahezu alle Maschen werden glatt rechts gestrickt. Daher eignet sich dieses Projekt perfekt für Anfänger. Fortgeschrittene Stricker und Strickerinnen können die Anweisungen verwenden, um mit Mustern wie Zöpfen oder Lace zu experimentieren.

Wer das Paar wie in der Anleitung glatt rechts strickt, kann so ziemlich jede Farbe verwenden, denn die Handschuhe machen sich nicht nur einfarbig gut. Sie eignen sich auch perfekt, um die Schönheit handgefärbter Garne in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen.

Die Anleitung ist vier DIN A 4 Seiten lang und du erhältst die Downloadlinks für die deutsche und englische Version. Beschrieben werden drei unterschiedliche Größen.

Diese Strickanleitung ist kostenlos und ich freue mich daher sehr darüber, wenn ihr ihr auf Ravelry ein paar Likes schenkt und meine handgefärbte Wolle für dieses Projekt verwendet. In jeder Anleitung steckt eine Menge Zeit und Arbeit und nur mit eurer Unterstützung ist es mir möglich euch auch weiterhin kostenlos Anleitungen zur Verfügung zu stellen.

Hello everybody,

As many of you already read in the January newsletter, I have lots of plans for Valentine's Day. Tomorrow I'll make the start and offer you my new free pattern I wanna hold your hand. This knitting pattern are for a simple pair of fingerless gloves. To knit such a pair, you only need about 30-40g of my Soft Socks (depending on the size you want to knit) and a set of 3.0mm double pointed needles.

This pattern is to be understood as a basic guide explaining how to knit a pair of fingerless gloves with fingering weight yarn. Almost all stitches are knitted in stockinette stitch. Therefore this project is perfect for beginners. Advanced knitters can use the instructions to experiment with different stitches as cables or lace.

If you knit the pair in stockinette as described in the instructions, you can use any colour you like because the mitts look great in solid as well as in speckled or variegated colourways. They are also perfect for highlighting the beauty of hand dyed yarns.

The pattern is four DIN A 4 pages long and you get the download links for the German and English version. Three different sizes are described.

This knitting pattern is for free and I would be very happy if you give it some likes on Ravelry and use my hand dyed yarn for this project. Each pattern requires a lot of time and work and only with your support I am able to continue to provide you with more free knitting patterns.
