Little Red Riding Hood
by Schibot Garne - a knitting pattern for a pair of socks, in German and English
ABOUT THIS PATTERN:
If you've always wanted a thick pair of socks that also looks great, Little Red Riding Hood is just the thing for you!
These socks are knitted cuff down using DK yarn (6-ply).
The pattern is written for knitting with a set of double pointed needles, but experienced knitters can easily adapt the pattern to the Magic Loop method.
The pattern contains charts and written instructions for European shoe sizes 32-35 (over 44 stitches), 36-39 (over 48 stitches) and 40-43 (over 52 stitches).
Heel and toe are also explained in detail.
By downloading the pattern you will receive links to the pdf-files, once in German and once in English, each 7 DIN-A-4 pages long.
You should be able to:
- knit in the round and in rows
- do knit and purl stitches
- knit through the back loop
- do various increases and decreases
- make yarn overs
- knit according to chart or written
instructions
- pick up new stitches
GAUGE
24 stitches x 30 rounds = 10x10 cm (4x4'')
(stockinette, in the round, 3.5mm/ US 4)
SIZES
EU 32-35 (36-39, 40-43)
YOU NEED THIS YARN:
-1x Schibot Garne Soft DK (390m/150g, 80% Merino extrafine / 20% polyamide)
- colourway of sample: Rotweinfleck
- 60-70 (70-80, 80-90) g
- 156-182 (182-208, 208-234) m
- 170-199 (199-227, 227-256) yds
YOU NEED THESE NEEDLES:
- 1x 3.25mm DPNs (US 3)
- 1x 3.5mm DPNs (US 4)
or the needles size you need to obtain gauge
NOTIONS:
- darning needle
- scissors
- optional stitch markers to mark beginning of round and chart as well as progress keepers to count rounds and rows
