für diese Woche habe ich eine Menge Wolle für euch gefärbt! Morgen werden ihr auf meinen Soft Socks sechs verschiedene Färbungen finden können. Schaut euch einfach das Bild rechts an, um zu sehen, was online gehen wird.

Meine Soft Socks Qualität ist ein wunderschönes 4-fach Garn in Sockenwollstärke, das so weich ist, dass es sich auf der Haut wirklich angenehm anfühlt. Diese Wolle eignet sich definitiv für jegliche Strick- und Häkelprojekte.

For this week I dyed a lot of yarn for you! Tomorrow you will find six different colourways on my Soft Socks base. Just have a look at the picture on the right to see what will go online.

My Soft Socks base is a nice 4 ply fingering weight yarn which feels so soft and pleasant against bare skin. It is definitely a base you can use for all kinds of knitting and crocheting projects.

Habt ihr schon meinen letzten Blogbeitrag gelesen? Dann wisst ihr ja, dass ich momentan sehr in meine Merino 100% ARAN Garnbasis verliebt bin. Diese dicke und fluffige Merinosinglewolle ist einfach so kuschlig weich!

Diese Woche habe ich für euch auf dieser Garnqualität fünf verschiedene Färbungen (schaut euch einfach das Bild links an).

Diese Wolle ist vielseitig und für allerlei Projekte geeignet: Mützen, dicke Schals, Pullover - der Phantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt!

Have you read my last blog post, yet? Then you know that I am currently in love with my Merino 100% ARAN base. This thick and fluffy merino single yarn is so soft!

This week I have five different colourways for you on this yarn base (have a look at the picture on the left).

This yarn is versatile and suited for any kind of project: Hats, chunky scarves, sweaters - be creative!

Und schließlich habe ich auch noch neun unterschiedliche Färbungen auf meinen BFL Socks für euch.

Ich werde recht häufig gefragt, wofür BFL eigentlich steht. Lasst mich das also kurz erklären.

Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) ist eine englische Schafrasse. BFL ist von Natur aus beständiger als weichere Wolle wie Merino und durch den Nylonanteil halten handgestrickte Projekte für eine lange Zeit. Großartig für Pullover, Tücher und Socken.

And last but not least I dyed up nine different colourways on my BFL Socks.

People often ask what BFL stands for. So let me give you a quick explanation.

Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) is an English breed of sheep. BFL is naturally more durable than softer wool like merino and with the addition of nylon, your handknit items will last for a long time. Great for sweaters, shawls and socks.

Ein neues Paar Handstulpen für mich!

A new pair of fingerless mitts for me!

Hallo meine Lieben,

heute möchte ich euch mein neuestes fertiges Projekt zeigen, ein Paar kuschlig weiche Pulswärmer ♥ Ich habe mein Lieblingspaar Handstulpen verlosen, aber alles Schlechte bringt ja auch immer etwas Gutes mit sich, oder nicht? Denn obwohl ich natürlich über den Verlust meiner Stulpen schon sehr traurig war, hatte ich damit aber auch die perfekte Entschuldigung, um ein neues Strickprojekt anzufangen. Ich wusste ganz genau, welche Wolle ich verwenden wollte, und zwar meine Merino 100% ARAN Basis in der Färbung "In Love", die einfach perfekt zu meinem Wintermantel passt. Dieses Singlegarn ist super weich und jedes Mal, wenn ich damit arbeite, macht es mir einfach Spaß.

Today I want to talk about my latest finished project, a pair of super soft wrist warmer ♥ I lost my favourite pair of fingerless mitts but every cloud has a silver lining, hasn't it? Even though I was really sad about having lost my mitts, I also had a great excuse to start a new knitting project. I knew exactly what yarn I wanted to use, my Merino 100% ARAN base in the colourway "In Love" which perfectly matches the colour of my winter coat. This single yarn is so soft and every time I work with this base, I really enjoy it.

Auf Ravelry habe ich dann die perfekte Anleitung gefunden: The Honeycomb Wrist Warmers by Courtney Spainhower. Ich mag das Honigwabenmuster, auch Netzpatent genannt, sehr, da es einfach zu stricken ist und man es sich gut merken kann. Die Anleitung gibt einem die Möglichkeit zwei Größen zu stricken, Erwachsene klein und Erwachsene medium. Ich habe mich für die kleine Version entschieden, da ich dachte, dass die Maschenanzahl für die größere Version doch zu viele sind.

Ich stricke ja sehr gerne mit Nadelspielen und - wie bei Socken auch - stricke ich am liebsten nur mit vier (statt mit fünf) Nadeln. Irgendwie ist das für mich einfacher zu handhaben und ich denke, dass ich damit schneller bin.

Da man für das Projekt eine dickere Wolle braucht (aran) und das Ganze auf 4mm Nadeln strickt, ging es auch recht flott voran. Ich denke, man kann so ein Paar in wenigen Stunden fertigstellen. Dadurch wäre diese Anleitung auch perfekt dazu geeignet, wenn man mal ein Last-Minute Geschenk braucht ;-)

On Ravelry I found the perfect pattern: The Honeycomb Wrist Warmers by Courtney Spainhower. I love the Honeycomb stitch, it is very easy to knit and to remember. The pattern gives you the option to knit two sizes, adult small and adult medium. I decided to make the small version because I thought the number of stitches given for the bigger version would be to many.

I really enjoy knitting with double pointed needles and - as with socks - I prefer knitting in the round only using four (instead of five) needles. For me, it is easier to handle and I think that I am way faster that way.

Using an aran weight yarn and 4mm (US 6) needles makes this project a quick knit. I think, you can easily make one pair of those mitts within a few hours. Accordingly, this pattern is something you should remember when you need a last minute gift ;-)

Für die erste Stulpe habe ich die Anleitung zunächst komplett befolgt, doch nachdem ich sie anprobiert habe, musste ich feststellen, dass es mir nicht gefiel, dass der Daumen nur ein Loch ist. Also habe ich 18 Maschen aufgenommen, eine Runde glatt rechts gestrickt, dann einmal das Honigwabenmuster gestrickt, eine Runde links gestrickt und schließlich alle Maschen locker abgekettet. Viel besser!

Eine weitere Änderung, die ich vorgenommen habe, ist, dass ich bei dem zweiten (linken) Pulswärmer die Zunahmen für den Daumen nicht am Rundenanfang sonder am Ende der Runde gemacht habe. Dadurch liegt der Rundenanfang beim Tragen der Stulpe auf der Handfläche, was meiner Meinung nach ordentlicher aussieht.

Wenn ich das Paar noch einmal stricken würde, dann würde ich wahrscheinlich zwei oder viel Maschen mehr anschlagen oder eine größere Nadelstärke verwenden, da die Stulpen doch ein klein bisschen zu eng sind. Trotzdem bin ich sehr mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden ♥ Während ich diese Worte hier tippe, trage ich sie sogar :-)

I completely followed the pattern for the first wrist warmer but after trying it on, I realized that I didn't like that the thumb is just a hole. So I picked up 18 stitches, knit one round, did one repeat of the honeycomb stitch, purled one round and loosely bound of all stitches. Way better!

Another modification I made is, that I did the thumb gusset at the end instead of the beginning of the round for the second (left) mitt. When you do that you will have the beginning of the round at the palm of your hand which, I think, looks neater.

If I made this pair again, I would cast on two or four more stitches or go up a needle size because they are a bit too tight. Nevertheless, I really like how they turned out ♥ I am actually wearing them while I am typing these words :-)

Ich habe nicht ganz 50g verbraucht, womit noch genug Wolle übrig wäre, um noch ein weiteres Paar oder ein passendes Stirnband zu stricken. Mal sehen :-)

Nachdem ich jetzt wieder mit dieser Garnbasis gearbeitet habe, muss ich sagen, dass ich wirklich sehr gerne einen Pullover oder Carigan in dieser Wolle hätte. Ich muss nur noch eine Anleitung finden, die mir wirklich gefällt. Bis jetzt habe ich schon drei gefunden, den Shapely Boyfriend von Stefanie Japel, Storm Tracker von Alicia Plummer und ich bin mir sicher, ihr kennt alle Flax von tincanknits. Habt ihr eine Idee? I used up not quite 50g so there is enough yarn left, to knit a second pair or a matching headband. Let's see :-)

Having worked with this yarn base again, I really want to knit a sweater or cardigan with it. I just have to find a pattern I really like. So far I found the Shapely Boyfriend by Stefanie Japel, Storm Tracker by Alicia Plummer and I am sure you all know Flax by tincanknits. Do you have any ideas? Today is Valentine's Day and a group of people started a Knit Along on Instagram who are all tackling the same knitting project, my pattern for a pair of socks called "Let me be your Valentine". I love seeing all the beautiful pair of socks you can find on Instagram tagged with #letmebeyourvalentinesocks. It is a free pattern I released in 2016 and if you want, you can still join this KAL.

And now let's talk about tomorrow's shop update because there is a lot I have to show you today. First of all I again dyed up my four new colourways on our Soft Socks base:

Hallo meine Lieben,

momentan bin ich ganz verrückt nach Ministrängen - sie sind putzig und weil ich weiß, wie sehr ihr Ministrangsets mögt, habe ich eine Farbkombination kreiert, von der ich mir sicher bin, dass ihr sie mögt.

Diese Sets sind auf unseren Mini Bots gefärbt, heißen "High Five" und jedes von ihnen beinhaltet 5x 10g Ministränge.

Grün- und Lilatöne - verwendet sie gemeinsam in einem Projekt, fürs Fair Isle Stricken oder andere kleine Projekte. Es macht auf jeden Fall immer eine Menge Spaß mit Minis zu handarbeiten :-)

I am currently totally addicted to mini skeins - they are cute and because I know how much you love mini skein sets, I created a colour combination, I am sure you will like.

These sets are dyed up on our Mini Bots, are called "High Five" and they contain 5x 10g mini skeins.

Greens and purples - use them together in one project or for colour work or other small projects. It is always so much fun to play with minis :-)

Diese Garnbasis ist identisch mit der, die ich für unsere Mini Bots verwende - unsere klassische Sockenwolle. Mit 75% Schurwolle und 25% Polyamid ist diese Wolle strapazierfähig, was sie zur perfekten Wahl für das nächste Paar Socken macht.

Natürlich lassen sich damit auch andere Projekte verwirklichen - vielleicht möchtest du ja eine dieser Farben mit dem ein oder anderen Ministrang von oben kombinieren?

Morgen habe ich mein drittes Shopupdate in diesem Jahr und ich habe viele Färbungen auf drei verschiedenen Garnqualitäten für euch gefärbt... und eine neue Färbung kreiert!

Fangen wir mit meinen Soft Socks an. Hier habe ich vier Färbungen für euch. Silvan Elf (oben links) ist meine brandneue Färbung - eine hübsche Kombination aus Grün- und Lilatönen.

Außerdem habe ich Rizza (oben rechts), eine sehr beliebte Färbung, sowie In Love (unten links) und Finsternis (unten rechts) für euch.

Let's begin by looking at my Soft Socks base. Here I have four colourways for you. Silvan Elf (top left) is my brandnew colourway - a lovely combination of greens and purples.

I also dyed up Rizza (top right), a very popular colourway, as well as In Love (bottom left) and Finsternis (bottom right).

Daher war es nicht so einfach für mich, zu entscheiden, welche ich färben soll. Am Ende habe ich mich für diese vier heiteren Färbungen entschieden:

Some of you contacted me and let me know that you want to see more solid colourways on my Bot Socks base. You know that I have lots of regular colourways, so it was not that easy to decide which one to dye. In the end I chose four bright colourways:

Wintertime Cowl & Mittens

Könnt ihr euch noch an das Wintertime Headband erinnern, das ich vor ein paar Wochen veröffentlicht habe? Ich habe endlich etwas Zeit gefunden, an den Anleitungen für die gesamte Wintertime Kollektion zu arbeiten. Jetzt könnt ihr euch auch den Wintertime Cowl und die Wintertime Mittens herunterladen ♥

Für die gesamte Kollektion braucht ihr insgesamt nur zwei Stränge meiner Merino 100% ARAN. Das Stirnband und der Cowl sind beides großartige Projekte für Strickanfänger. Beide werden an einem Stück in der Runde gestrickt. Die Fäustlinge sind ein kleines bisschen anspruchsvoller, da sie auf einem Nadelspiel gearbeitet werden, man einen Daumen strickt und den Maschenstich zum Schließen der Öffnung braucht.

Do you remember the Wintertime Headband I released a few weeks ago? I finally found some time to work on the whole Wintertime collection. Now you also can download the Wintertime Cowl and the Wintertime Mittens ♥

For the whole collection you only need two skeins of my Merino 100% ARAN base. The headband and the cowl are both great projects for knitting beginners. Both are worked in the round in one piece. The mittens are a little bit more challenging because they are worked on double pointed needles, you have to knit a thumb and do the kitchener stitch.

Hallo meine Lieben,

heute habe ich euch Einiges zu zeigen, deswegen lasst uns gleich anfangen. Für das morgige Shopupdate habe ich einige Schibot Sock Blanks für euch. Wie ihr auf dem Bild sehen könnt, habe ich einige Farbverläufe gefärbt (perfekt, wenn ihr ein Tuch stricken wollt), aber auch ein paar gespeckelte.

Mit einem Sock Blank zu stricken macht enorm viel Spaß. Kennt ihr meine Anleitung Message in a Bottle? Ich musste einfach ein Tuch designen, für das man einen Sock Blank mit Farbverlauf benötigt und kombinierte diesen mit einem Strang meiner Soft Socks. Das Resultat mag ich sehr. Vielleicht euer nächstes Strickprojekt?

I have a lot of things to show you today, so let's dive right into it. For tomorrow's shop update I have a lot of Schibot Sock Blanks for you. As you can see in the picture, I dyed up lots of gradients (perfect if you want to knit a shawl) and some speckled blanks.

Knitting with sock blanks is so much fun. Do you know my pattern Message in a Bottle? I had to design a shawl using one of my gradient dyed sock blanks combined with one skein of my Soft Socks and I love the result a lot. Maybe this will be your next project?

Ich habe diese Woche auch viele Färbungen auf meinen Soft Socks.

Eine davon ist eine brandneue Färbung: Villain (ganz unten rechts). Das ist eine gespeckelte Färbung mit Grün-, Blau- und Brauntönen - auch toll für Männer :-)

Außerdem wir es zwei neue Soft Socks Trios geben. Soft Socks Trios sind Sets, die aus drei Strängen meiner Soft Socks in verschiedenen Färbungen bestehen.

Das erste Set besteht aus den Färbungen Vanilla Sky, Fervour und Rotweinfleck. Das zweite ist eine Kombination aus Finsternis, Winter is coming und Bittersweet.

I also have a lot of colourways on my Soft Socks base this week.

One of them is a brandnew colourway: Villain (on the bottom right). It is a speckled colourway with green and blues and browns - also great for men :-)

There will also be two new Soft Socks Trios. Soft Socks Trios are sets of three different skeins of my Soft Socks in matching colourways.

The first set consists of the colourways Vanilla Sky, Fervour and Rotweinfleck. The second one is a combination of Finsternis, Winter is coming and Bittersweet.

Und dann habe wird es auch wieder eine Mini Bots Surprise geben - endlich!

Dieses Mal bekommt ihr nicht fünf sondern sechs verschiedene Ministränge. Jeder einzelne von ihnen ist ein Unikot - es wird sie also nie wieder geben. Man kann mit ihnen beispielsweise die Ferse einer Socke in einer Kontrastfarbe stricken, Spielzeug zaubern oder damit eine Decke stricken (s. Bild links). Mini Bots können süchtig machen :-)

And last but not least there will be a Mini Bots Surprise again - finally!

This time you will not get five but six different mini skeins. All of them are one of a kind - so they will never be available again. You can use them to knit the heel of a sock in a contrasting colour, knitting toys or to knit a blanket (see picture on the left). Mini Bots can be quite addictive :-)

Ich freue mich mit meinem ersten Shopupdate in diesem Jahr wieder zurück zu sein! Ich war ziemlich fleißig und daher gibt es einige neue Dinge hier auf der Seite.

Wie ihr vielleicht schon gesehen habt, habe ich die Website ein wenig umgestaltet und für euch viele Informationen über meine Garnqualitäten, Färbungen, den Umgang mit handgefärbter Wolle und das Färben zusammengestellt. Diese Woche gibt es außerdem zwei neue reguläre Färbungen und eine brandneue Garnbasis!

Lasst uns mit der Sockenwolle anfangen. Auf unseren Soft Socks habe ich zwei komplett neue Färbungen für euch: Snorkelling und Incubus. Auf dieser Wolle findet ihr morgen außerdem eine nicht wiederholbare ooak-Färbung und Autumn Walk.

I am excited to be back with the first shop update of 2018! I have been busy and there are lots of new things going on here.

As you already might have seen, I have recently redesigned the website and added lots of information for you about my yarn bases, colourways, caring for hand dyed yarns and dyeing. Also new this week are two new regular colourways as well as a brandnew yarn base!

Let's start with sock yarn. I have two new regular colourways I dyed up on my Soft Socks base: Snorkelling and Incubus. Tomorrow you will also find a one of a kind colourway and Autumn Walk on this base.

Und nun lasst uns über meine neue Garnbasis reden: Lacy Merino Singles! Ich freue mich unglaublich darüber, euch dieses großartige Garn anbieten zu können! Dieses feine Singlelacegarn ist so weich und kuschelig! Ein 100g Strang hat eine Lauflänge von 800m aus 100% superwash Merinowolle. Es ist die perfekte Wahl für viele Lacemuster, Tücher und leichte Kleidungsstücke.

Ich muss gestehen, dass ich ein wenig ausgeflippt bin, als ich diese Wolle das erste Mal in den Händen hielt. Ich konnte nicht anders und musste die komplette Lieferung färben. Das ist der Grund, warum ihr morgen aus zwanzig (!) verschiedenen Färbungen wählen könnt. Ihr solltet dieses Garn auf jeden Fall ausprobieren!

And now let's talk about my new yarn base: Lacy Merino Singles! I am super excited about this gorgeous yarn! This delicate laceweight single yarn is so soft and squishy! One 100g skein has a yardage of 800m of 100% superwash merino. It is the perfect choice for lots of lace patterns, shawls and lightweight garments.

I have to admit that I went wild when I first hold it in my hands. I could not resist to dye up the whole order. That is the reason why you can choose from twenty (!) different colourways tomorrow. Definitely check it out!

es ist Zeit für mein letztes Shopupdate im Jahr 2017. Ja, ich werde mir eine kleine Pause gönnen:

Mein Onlineshop wird am 25. Dezember geschlossen und geht am 15. Januar 2018 wieder online.

Aber jetzt lasst uns über das morgige Shopupdate reden. Diese Woche habe ich ein paar Stränge auf meiner Merino 100% DK und auf meinen Soft Socks für euch.

Auf der Merino 100% DK wird es vier winterliche Färbungen geben: Sweet Dreams, Winter is coming, Desert Storm und Bittersweet. Dieses Garn ist wirklich ein Alleskönner: 250m auf 100g, 100% superwash Merino - ich sehe Pullover, Schals und Decken - alles, was ihr euch vorstellen könnt! Falls ihr ein klein wenig Inspiratiopn braucht, dann schaut euch auf jeden Fall Cassondra's Anleitung We were seeds auf Ravelry an. Das ist so ein großartiges Design und ich liebe die Geschichte, die dahinter steckt. Dieses wunderschöne Tuch kann auch mit DK Garn gestrickt werden, wodurch ein etwas größeres Tuch entsteht. Ich mag meine Version sehr - es lohnt sich definitiv, diese Anleitung mal anzuschauen!

It's time for my last shop update of 2017. Yes, I will be taking a short break:

My online shop will be closed on 25th December 2017 and re-opening on 15th January 2018.

But now let's talk about tomorrow's shop update. This week I have some skeins of my Merino 100% DK as well as some of my Soft Socks base for you.

On my Merino 100% DK base there are four winter colourways: Sweet Dreams, Winter is coming, Desert Storm and Bittersweet. This yarn is an allrounder: 250m per 100g of 100% superwash Merino - I see sweaters, scarfs, blankets - everything you can imagine! If you need some inspiration, have a look at Cassondra's lovely pattern We were seeds at Ravelry. It is such a great design and I really love the story behind it. This beautiful shawl can also be worked in a DK weight yarn which produces an overall larger shawl. I am in love with my version - definitely worth checking it out!

Hallo meine Lieben,

bald ist Weihnachten - nur noch elf Tage! Für mich muss es an Heilig Abend draußen kalt sein und die Natur wegen des vielen Schnees glitzern. Um euch etwas von dem Glitzer und der Freude nach Hause zu bringen, habe ich daher vier Färbungen auf unseren Silver Glitter Bots für euch.

Ganz oben seht ihr Blue Dream und diese Färbung ist auf Glitzergarnbasis einfach ein Traum ♥

In der unteren Reihe haben wir (von links nach rechts) I don't care, Rizza und Highlight.

Wenn euch die Inspiration für ein glitzerndes Strickprojekt fehlt, dann seid ihr vielleicht an meiner Anleitung Sparkling Snowflake interessiert. Diese fingerlosen Handschuhe sind ein großartiges Weihnachtsgeschenk. Ich habe auch noch einige einfarbige Stränge im Shop ;-)

Christmas is just around the corner - only eleven days! For me, Christmas Eve has to be cold and sparkling outside. To bring some sparkle and cheer to your home, I dyed up four colourways on our Silver Glitter Bots for you.

At the top you can see Blue Dream, a colourway that is simply gorgeous on this sparkling yarn base ♥

In the bottom row you see (from left to right) I don't care, Rizza and Highlight.

If you have no inspiration for a sparkling knitting project, you might be interested in my pattern Sparkling Snowflake. These fingerless gloves are a great gift for Christmas. I still have lots of tonal and semi-solids colourway in the shop ;-)

Wenn es euch so wie mir ergeht, und euch immer kalt ist, ganz egal, wie hoch die Heizung eingestellt ist, dann tragt ihr vermutlich all eure Armstulpen, Tücher und Socken im Haus. Und wenn es draußen so kalt und eisig ist, dann ist es eigentlich doch nur verständlich, dass so ein einzelner Strang Wolle eine wahre Versuchung darstellen kann.

Als ich die Färbungen für das morgige Shopupdate auf meiner Merino 100% ARAN gefärbt habe, musste ich die ganze Zeit an Projekte denken, die ich so gerne anschlagen würde. Dieses Garn ist einfach so weich! Daraus könnte man warme und kuschlige Mützen, Schals und Handschuhe stricken - wie beispielsweise die Winter is comining Collection, die ich letztes Jahr veröffentlicht habe. Wenn du Strickanfänger bist, dann empfehle ich dir, diese Wolle einmal auszuprobieren. Dieses Singlegarn ist dick und man kann kleinere Projekte wie das Wintertime Headband schnell fertigstellen.

If you are like me and are always cold, no matter how high the heating is set, then you probably wear all the mitten, shawls and socks inside the house as well. And when it is that cold and freezing outside, it is quite amazing how tempting a simple skein of yarn can be.

When I dyed up the colourways for tomorrow's shop update on my Merino 100% ARAN yarn base, I was constantly thinking about projects I really want to cast on. This yarn is so soft! You can knit warm and cozy hats, scarfs and mitts - for example the Winter is coming collection I released last year. If you are a knitting beginner, I highly recommend to try out this yarn. This single yarn is thick and you can easily finish a smaller project like the Wintertime Headband within a short time.
