Schibot Sock Blanks, Soft Socks, Merino 100% DK & Merino 100% ARAN

Hi everybody,

It's time for a shop update preview! And tomorrow you will find something totally new in my shop: SCHIBOT SOCK BLANKS! So what is a sock blank? To knit with a sock blank you pull out the ending of one side of the blank and unravel the sock blank as you knit. Knitting from a sock blank means that you use yarn that has been knit before. When you finish your project you should wash it and the stitches will block out nicely! It was so much fun to dye them. Tomorrow you will find three different sock blanks: a speckled and two gradient ones.

es ist mal wieder Zeit euch zu zeigen, was euch im morgigen Update erwartet. Und morgen könnt ihr im Shop etwas ganz Neues finden: SCHIBOT SOCK BLANKS! Was ist ein Sock Blank? Um mit einem solchen Strickschlauch zu stricken, zieht man am Faden an einem Ende der Sock Blank. Mit diesem Faden strickt man und ribbelt dabei den Strickschlauch auf. Strickt man mit einem Sock Blank bedeutet das natürlich, dass man mit einem Garn strickt, das schon einmal verstrickt wurde. Wenn man das Projekt fertiggestellt hat, nimmt man das Strickstück einfach, wäscht es und die Maschen werden sich entspannen und nach dem Spannen ein schönes Strickbild ergeben. Es hat mir wirklich großen Spaß gemacht, die Sock Blanks zu färben. Morgen werdet ihr drei verschiedenen im Shop finden: einen gespeckelten und zwei Farbverläufe.

And there is more waiting for you! I dyed up five different colourways on my MERINO 100% DK and MERINO 100% ARAN base. And one of these colourways is totally NEW: It's called Frozen Kiss and some of you might have already seen it on Instagram. Isn't this a lovely colourway? I am totally in love with it ♥

Hallo zusammen,

Januar ist fast vorüber und so dachte ich, dass es eine nette Idee wäre, euch all die Dinge zu zeigen, die ich diesen Monat fertigstellen konnte. Vier Projekte sind mir von den Nadeln gehüpft!

Nummer 1 ist mein neues Design, welches ich in wenigen Tagen veröffentlichen werde. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Paar Socken mit dem Namen Hula Hoop Cables. Wenn ihr mehr Bilder sehen wollt, solltet ihr unbedingt in meiner Ravelry Gruppe vorbeischauen und euch all die wundervollen Sockenpaare anschauen, die bei meinen lieben Teststrickerinnen entstanden sind. Das Garn, das ich verwendet habe, ist meine BFL Socks Garnbasis. Meine Teststrickerinnen haben auch die Soft Socks und Bot Socks in anderen Färbungen verwendet. Es ist interessant zu sehen, wie das Muster bei ihnen aussieht! Wenn ich die Anleitung veröffentliche, werde ich noch etwas mehr über sie verraten. Ein dickes DANKESCHÖN an meine Teststrickerinnen. January is almost over and so I thought it would be a nice idea to show you all the things I finished this month. Four projects off the needles!

Number 1 is my new design which should be ready to release in a few days. It's a pair of socks called Hula Hoop Cables. If you are interested in more pictures, definitely check out my Ravelry group to see all the wonderful pairs of socks my lovely test knitters made. The yarn I used is my BFL Socks base. My testers also used my Soft Socks and Bot Socks in different colourways. It is interesting to see how the pattern turns out! I will talk a bit more about this design when I release it. A big THANK YOU to my test knitters. You are the best ♥

Mein zweites fertiges Projekt ist ein Design der Podcasterin Mina Philipp - ihr Tuch namens For the Love of Rainbows. Es ist schon das zweite Mal, das ich es gestrickt habe, da eine liebe Freundin sich in mein erstes Regenbogentuch verliebt hat und meinte, dass sie auch so gern eines hätte. Ihr Geburtstag war diese Woche und ich konnte natürlich nicht anderes als sie mit diesem farbenfrohen Tuch zu überraschen. Verwendet habe ich zwei unterschiedliche Garnqualitäten. Das hellgraue Garn ist die Färbung "Rauchzeichen" auf meinen Soft Socks. Die Regenbogenfarben stammen von meinem Rainbow Set auf den Mini Bots. Gestrickt habe ich das Tuch auf 4.00 mm Nadeln und es ist sehr groß geworden, was ich liebe!

My second finsihed object is a design by the lovely podcaster Mina Philipp - her shawl called For the Love for Rainbows. It is the second time I knit it because a dear friend of mine fell in love with my first Rainbow Shawl and said, she would love to have one, too. Her birthday was this week, so of course I couldn't resist to surprise her with this colourful shawl. I used two different yarn bases. The light grey one is the colourway "Rauchzeichen" on my Soft Socks base. The rainbow colours are from my Rainbow Set on the Mini Bots. I knit this shawl on 4.00mm needles and it is really huge which I love!

Mein drittes Projekt ist eine weitere Designidee und bisher konnte auch noch niemand davon Bilder sehen. Aus irgendeinem Grund wollte ich mit meiner Merino 100% DK Garnqualität eine Mütze anschlagen, nur konnte ich keine Anleitung finden, die mir wirklich gefiel. Also entwarf ich meine eigene Version einer Mütze. Sie ist schnell und relativ einfach zu stricken. Ich möchte noch nicht zu sehr ins Detail gehen, aber ich kann euch verraten, dass mir das Resultat wirklich sehr gefällt. Nun muss ich die erste Version der Anleitung noch aufschreiben und sie an meine Teststrickerinnen schicken.

My third project is another design idea and nobody has been able to see any pics of it so far. For some reason I wanted to cast on a hat with my Merino 100% DK base but I couldn't find a pattern I really liked. So I designed my own version of a hat. It is a quick knit and relatively easy to make. I don't want to go to much in detail now but I can tell you that I really like how it turned out. Now I have to write down the first version of the pattern and send it out to my test knitters. 

Das letzte Projekt, das ich diesen Monat ferstigstellen konnte, ist ein Top und war wirklich sehr lange auf den Nadeln. Angefangen habe ich es im Mai letzten Jahres und ich kann euch wirklich nicht sagen, warum ich so lange dafür gebraucht habe. Und nun bin ich superglücklich damit! Schaut euch das Bild an! So ein feminines Top - ich bin verliebt ♥ Die Anleitung ist von Diane Mulholland und trägt den Namen Maude. Geschrieben ist die Anleitung für Lacegarn, das man durchweg doppelt nimmt. Speziell für dieses Projekt habe ich drei Stränge meiner Lacy Ladies gefärbt und dann einfach nur die Anleitung befolgt. Die Anleitung ist kostenlos und das Ergebnis einfach nur atemberaubend!

The last project I finished this month is a top that has been on the needles for ages. I started it in May last year and I really don't know why it took me so long to finsish it. And now I am so super happy with it! Look at this picture! Such a feminine top - I am in love with it ♥ The pattern is by Diane Mulholland and it is called Maude. It is written for lace weight yarn, used doubled throughout. Especially for this project I dyed up three skeins of my Lacy Ladies base and just followed the pattern. It's a free pattern and the result is stunning!

This base is amazing. The mix of superwash treated merino and glitter makes it perfect a very special project - a great yarn for shawls ;-)

Diese Garnqualität ist herrlich. Die Zusammensetzung aus superwash behandelter Merinowolle und Glitter sind einfach perfekt für ein ganz besonderes Projekt - ein großartiges Garn für Tücher ;-)

When I saw these two colourways together, I immediately had to think of a pattern by Francoise Danoy (aka ArohaKnits): The Tokerau Shawl ♥

It's a free pattern, available in English. A beautiful two colour shawl.

BFL Socks, Mini Bots, Bot Socks & Soft Socks

Hallo zusammen,

wie immer habe ich morgen um 18.00 Uhr ein Shopupdate. Auf meinen BFL Socks gehen viele Färbungen online. Einige davon sind sehr beliebt wie Blue Dream, Grinks und Never Say Never. Es wird aber auch ein paar einzigartige einfarbige Stränge geben.

Ich selbst habe bereits zwei Paar Socken aus dieser Wolle gestrickt. Hier könnt ihr ein Paar sehen, das ich letzten Sommer mit der Färbung Grinks gestrickt habe. Letzte Woche habe ich das Paar für mein neues Design fertiggestellt, welches meine Teststricker gerade testen.

As ususal I have a shop update tomorrow at 6pm German time (GMT+1). A lot of colourways on my BFL Socks will go online. Some of them are very popular like Blue Dream, Grinks and Never Say Never. But there will also be some solid-coloured ooak skeins.

I have already knit two pairs of socks with this yarn. Here you can see a pair in the Grinks colourway I knit last summer. Last week I finished the sample of my new design which my test knitters are currently testing for me.

Für alle unter euch, die in Ministränge verliebt sind: Es wird wieder Black Rainbow Sets auf meinen Mini Bots geben. Ein Set besteht aus sechs Ministrängen (jedes 10g) in den Farben des Regenbogens. Jeder Mini hat ein Etikett mit seinem Namen drauf. Ich selbst stricke diese süßen Minis in My Cozy Memories Blanket, aber ich kann sie mir in vielen Projekten vorstellen :-)

For all of you who are in love with mini skeins: Black Rainbow Sets on my Mini Bots will be available again. One set consists of six mini skeins (each 10g) in the colours of the rainbow. Each mini has a tag with its name on it. I knit them into My Cozy Memories Blanket but there are so many projects you can use them for.

Auf den Bot Socks habe ich auch zwei Färbungen für euch und eine davon ist auch regenbogig: Somewhere over the Rainbow. Diese Färbung ist nicht sehr oft im Shop, ich weiß. Jeder Strang ist handbemalt und mit all seinen Farben nimmt das viel Zeit in Anspruch. Aber morgen ist der Regenbogen wieder im Shop!

Die andere Färbung ist auch ziemlich beliebt: Autumn Walk. Ich liebe die Farben in dem Strang sehr. All diese warmen Rot-, Grün- und Orangetöne ♥ Natürlich behalte ich einen Strang hier in meinem Wollvorrat :)

I also dyed up two colourways on my Bot Socks base and one of them is rainbowy, too: Somewhere over the Rainbow. This colourway is not that often in the shop, I know. Each skein is hand-painted and because of all the colours it takes up a lot of time. But tomorrow the rainbow will be back in the shop!

The other colourway is also quite popular: Autumn Walk. I love the colours in that skein so much. All those warm reds and greens and oranges ♥ Of course one of those skeins stays here in my stash :)

My patterns are now also available here in my shop! Browse the pattern page and maybe you'll find one you would like to download. As you may already be aware, I also moved my blog to the shop domain. 2016 war für Schibot Garne ein großartiges Jahr. Mein Geschäft ist in den letzten Monaten gewachsen und das verdanke ich natürlich eurer Unterstützung! Vielen Dank! Für meinen kleinen Shop bedeutet dass, dass ich nun nicht länger umsatzsteuerbefreit bin.

Alle Preise, die im Shop stehen, sind nun inklusive der Mehrwertsteuer und gelten für alle Kunden aus Deutschland und der EU. Kunden aus allen anderen Ländern müssen die Mehrwertsteuer bei mir nicht bezahlen. Diese wird während des Bestellvorgangs abgezogen. Allerdings müssen Kunden aus nicht EU-Länder daran denken, dass sie für den Import der Waren und den damit anfallenden Zollgebühren und Steuern selbst verantwortlich sind.

Lasst uns mit meiner superweichen Merino 100% aran Garnbasis anfangen - die perfekte Wolle für Winterprojekte ;-) the perfect yarn to knit with in winter ;-) Vier Färbungen habe ich für euch: Ruby of the Night und Rauchzeichen sind zusammen eine traumhafte Farbkombination und ich kann schon Fäustlinge und kuschelige Mützen in diesen Färbungen sehen. Druid ist eine eurer (und meiner) beliebtesten Färbungen und musste einfach in den Shop. Winter is coming ist die Färbung für meine Winter Kollektion, die ihr auch hier im Shop finden könnt.

Druid is one of your (and mine) favourite colours and it simply had to go into the shop. Winter is coming is the colourway for my winter collection pattern you can find here in my shop, too.

Natürlich wird es auf eurer Lieblingsgarnbasis, den Soft Socks, wieder viele Färbungen geben (siehe zweites Bild). Und auch etwas Neues! Ich dachte, es wäre eine tolle Idee, Soft Socks Duos anzubieten: Zwei Stränge in zwei unterschiedlichen Farben, die gut zusammenpassen. Ich

Of course there will be lots of colourways (see second picture) on your favourite yarn base, the Soft Socks :-) And there is something new! I thought it would be a great idea to offer some Soft Socks Duos: Two skeins in two different colourways that go really well together. I hope you like that idea! I can't wait to find out which combination you like best!

Viele von euch haben mich gefragt, wann es die Wollpakete wieder geben wird. Die Antwort ist morgen :-) Alle drei Boxen (die Bot Socks Box, die Soft Socks Box und die Schibot Box) wird es wieder geben. Schaut also definitiv in diese Kategorie und sichert euch eure Box, bevor sie wieder ausverkauft sind!

A lot of you asked me, when the yarn boxes will be available again. The answer is tomorrow :-) There will be all three kind of boxes (the Bot Socks Box, the Soft Socks Box and the Schibot Box). So definetly check out this category to get one before they are sold out again!

Das ist noch nicht alles! Ich habe auch neun Färbungen auf den Lacy Ladies gefärbt. Die meisten Färbungen kennt ihr wahrscheinlich schon, aber es sind auch zwei neue dabei: Lady Leanne und Miss Melody. Ich bin richtig verliebt in all die verschiedenen Blau- und Lilatöne.

Ich liebe es mit so dünnem Garn zu stricken. Der Hauptgrund ist, das ein Strang dieser Garnqualität 700 Meter Lauflänge hat. Das bedeutet, dass man mit nur ein oder zwei Strängen ein größeres Projekt ferstigstellen könnte.

2015 habe ich mir mit nur einem Strang unserer Lacy Ladies ein kurzärmliges Top gestrickt und ich trage es sehr gerne!

I love knitting with laceweight yarn. The main reason is, that one skein of this base has a yardage of 700 metres. That means that you could finish a larger project with only one or two skeins.

In 2015 I knit a top for me with only one skein of our Lacy Ladies and I love wearing it!

Sind die nicht süß? Meiner Meinung nach kann man ja nie genug Maschenmarkierer haben! Auch sie werden morgen um 18.00 Uhr online gehen :-)
