Small children's hands do need to be warm in winter. When my daughter turned two, I realised that you need more than just one pair of mittens for a toddler in the cold season. Nothing easier that that, as the Little Miss Sophie Mitts are quick and easy to knit!

you need:

• about 25g / 100m of our Soft Socks
• 1x 2.25mm (US 1) DPNs
• 1x 3.0mm (US 2 1/2) DPNs
• darning needle
• scissors
• two stitch markers
• one stitch holder

measurements of the finished mitten:

• total length: about 16cm
• width: about 6cm
• hand circumference: about 12cm

gauge:

• 28sts x 42rds
• (stockinette in the round on larger needles)

techniques:

• casting on stitches
• knit and purl stitch
• knitting in the round
• putting stitches on hold
• increases (M1L and M1R)
• decreases (ssk and k2tog)
