Hallo meine Lieben,

in meiner ersten YouTube Folge habe ich es ja das erste Mal laut ausgesprochen: Ich habe mir tatsächlich vorgenommen dieses Jahr 12 Pullover zu stricken! Und heute kann ich euch ganz stolz Nummer vier zeigen: Mein Sorrel Pullover! Doch bevor ich mehr dazu erzähle, möchte ich mich ganz herzlich bei allen bedanken, die sich bereits ein Kit für den Sorrel gegönnt haben. Diese Woche färbe ich wie eine Verrückte Wolle für dieses Design und ich freue mich schon auf all die vielen Bilder eurer Sorrels!

Vielleicht ist der folgende Bericht über mein Sorrelabenteuer ja für den ein oder anderen hilfreich, der sich noch nicht ganz sicher ist, ob er diesen Pulli auch stricken soll. Also, holt euch ein Getränk, euer Strickzeug und viel Spaß beim Lesen ♥

Ich selbst bin auf den Sorrel durch Instagram aufmerksam geworden. Die ersten zwei Monate diesen Jahres war mein Feed voll mit unglaublich schönen Anstrickbildern dieses Pullis - eins schöner als das andere! Ich bin dann auf Ravelry gegangen und habe mir dort die Sorrelanleitungsseite etwas genauer angesehen. Dort habe ich dann herausgefunden, dass der Sorrel von AbbyeKnits und DankFiber ist, die sich zu einem Designerduo zusammengeschlossen haben, das sich Wool & Pine nennt. Sorrel ist erst ihr zweites Design und schon haben die beiden einen solchen Erfolg! Die Anleitung ist neben dem Englischen mittlerweile auch auf Französisch und Spanisch erhältlich.

Mir hat es so sehr in den Fingern gejuckt, den Pulli anzuschlagen und Mitte April war es dann so weit! Von Anfang an wusste ich, welche Farben es werden sollten: Die Soft Socks in der Farbe Autumn Walk kombiniert mit dem Mohairgarn Extraklasse in der Farbe 4452. Kaum war das Garn gewickelt, hatte ich eine Maschenprobe gemacht. Punktlandung! Also konnte es los gehen.

An dem Tag war es schön und ich wollte draußen auf der Terrasse stricken. Kaffee, ausgedruckte Anleitung, Wolle, Nadeln, alles da. Ging auch wunderbar, das Halsbündchen war schnell gestrickt und dann ging es auch schon mit dem Muster los. Diese eine bestimmte Masche wird in der Anleitung nicht erklärt, aber ich sah, dass da ein Link aufgeführt wurde, der mich zu einem Videotutorial führt. Nur konnte ich nichts anklicken, ich hatte die Anleitung ja nur auf Papierform dabei. Ja, ich hätte natürlich reingehen und den PC anwerfen können, aber - ich hoffe, irgendeiner der hier mitliest versteht das! - es war gerade so schön und bequem draußen. Ich war mir ganz sicher, dass ich das Muster auch ohne Video hinbekomme, anhand der Bilder in der Anleitung. Nach etwa drei Musterwiederholungen war mir klar, dass das, was ich da mache, vollkommen falsch ist. Ab dem Zeitpunkt hatte ich noch ein wenig aus Trotz weitergestrickt. Bis ich den Pulli dann in die Projekttasche geworfen und erstmal in die Ecke gestellt hatte. Denn es war klar, das musste geribbelt werden.

Es dauerte etwas, bis ich wieder Muße hatte, mich mit meinem Sorrel auseinanderzusetzen. Mittlerweile hatte ich schon versucht, ihn wieder aufzutrennen, aber mit Mohair ist das nahezu nicht schaffbar und für einen ungeduldigen Menschen wie mich, einfach ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit. Aber da ich das Tutorial nun angesehen und es "Klick" gemacht hatte, gab es nun auch kein Halten mehr. Also, wichtiger Tipp: schaut euch das Tutorial an, bevor ihr mit dem Muster beginnt!

Ich hatte am Anfang ein wenig Bedenken, wegen der Größe. Bei mir sah das Strickstück während des Musterstrickens sehr klein aus. Aber: einfach mal den Designern vertrauen! Die Größenangaben sind genau richtig - vorausgesetzt, die Maschenprobe passt! Anders als bei vielen deutschen und europäischen Anleitungen, werden die Größen nicht in S, M, L, XL,... angegeben. Und das ist auch gut so! Hab ich im ersten Laden Größe M,  geh ich nächsten Laden mit einem Teil in Größe L raus. So etwas ist mir schon häufig passiert und ich weiß, dass ich nicht die einzige bin. Daher: wenn ihr mir schreibt, ihr würdet gerne einen Pulli in Größe M stricken und ich frag euch daraufhin nach eurem Brustumfang, dann bitte nicht wundern ;) Denn der Brustumfang macht als Größenangabe doch am meisten Sinn! Deswegen (da ich so viele Fragen bekomme): messt bitte euren Brustumfang und sucht euch anhand dieser Maße das Kit für euren Sorrel Pulli aus.

Aber zurück zu meinem Projekt. Ich muss gestehen, dass mir das Stricken des wunderschönen Musters erst nicht so viel Freude gemacht hatte. Ich nehme aber mal an, dass dies an meinem Fehlstart lag. Denn kaum waren die Ärmel stillgelegt, vermisste ich das Muster :)

Bevor man die Ärmel jedoch stilllegt, werden am Rücken noch verkürzte Reihen gestrickt. Diese bewirken, dass das Rückenteil am Ende etwas höher liegt als der vordere Ausschnitt. Ich war sehr erfreut zu sehen, dass die Designer bereits "german short rows" verwenden und ich nichts umrechnen musste. Häufig verwenden amerikanische Anleitungen die "wrap and turn" Methode, bei der dann aber leider unhübsche kleiner Löcher entstehen. Deswegen Daumen nach oben für diese Anleitung!

Hat man nur noch die Maschen für den Körper auf Nadeln, wird die Arbeit einmal gewendet und man strickt von der Innenseite aus weiter. Auch das ist sehr schlau durchdacht: Der Körperteil besteht ja aus reinen linken Maschen. Doch dreht man die Arbeit um, kann man einfach bequem glatt rechts in der Runde den Körper runterstricken. Hier musste ich mich nun entscheiden, wie lange ich den Pulli letztendlich haben möchte. Ich kam zu einer recht guten Lösung: nicht super lang, nicht cropped, eine mittellange Version, da ich den Pulli gern sowohl zu Kleidern als auch zu High Waist Jeans tragen möchte.

Bei den Ärmeln geht man genauso vor: Sie werden verkehrt herum gestrickt, also glatt rechts, damit die Vorderseite später hübsche linke Maschen hat. Was die Ärmellänge angeht, musste ich nicht viel nachdenken. Ich mag meine Ärmel gerne etwas länger als der Durchschnittsmensch - einfach weil ich eine schreckliche Ärmelzieherin bin :))

Der Rest war dann eigentlich ein Kinderspiel. Zumindest für den, der lesen kann *räusper*. Die Bündchen (Hals, Körper und Ärmel), werden in einem verschränkten Rippenmuster gestrickt. Damit man die verschränkte Masche auch sieht, muss die Arbeit zuvor natürlich wieder auf die rechte Seite (die mit den linken Maschen) gedreht werden. Beim Körper hatte ich das vollkommen vergessen, weshalb man da jetzt keine verschränkten Maschen sieht. Aber das ist okay, wird schon keiner merken, oder? Auftrennen war für mich nämlich keine Option! ;) Bei den Ärmeln habe ich dann dafür dran gedacht!

Einen anderen Schritt habe ich mir mit vollkommener Absicht erspart. Körper und Ärmel sollen jeweils mit der "sewn bind off method" abgekettet werden. Wer nicht weiß, was das ist, kann ja mal danach googeln. Die Suchergebnisse werden sehr gut begründen können, warum ich einfach locker im Muster abgekettet habe. Man will ja auch mal fertig werden ;)

Fazit: Das wird im Herbst mein absolutes Lieblingsteil werden!!!

in my first YouTube episode, I said it out loud for the first time: I have actually planned to knit 12 sweaters this year! And today I can proudly show you number four: My Sorrel sweater! But before I tell you more about it, I would like to thank everyone who has already purchased a kit for the Sorrel. This week I am dyeing yarn like crazy for this design and I am looking forward to all the many pictures of your Sorrels!

Maybe the following report about my Sorrel adventure will be helpful for one or the other who is not quite sure yet whether he should knit this sweater. So, get yourself a drink, your knitting and have lot of fun reading ♥

I myself became aware of the Sorrel through Instagram. The first two months of this year my feed was full of incredibly beautiful knitting pictures of this sweater - one more beautiful than the other! I then went to Ravelry and took a closer look at the Sorrel pattern page. There I found out that Sorrel is designed by AbbyeKnits and DankFiber, who have formed a designer duo called Wool & Pine. Sorrel is only their second design and already they are so successful! The pattern is available in English and not also in French and Spanish.

I was itching so much to cast on the sweater on and in mid-April it finally happened! From the beginning I knew which colours I wanted to have: The Soft Socks in the colourway Autumn Walk combined with the mohair yarn Extraklasse in the colour 4452. As soon as the yarn was caked up, I had swatched for my gauge . Spot landing! So I was ready to go.

That day it was beautiful and I wanted to knit outside on the terrace. Coffee, printed pattern, yarn, needles, everything you need. It worked wonderfully, the neckline was knitted quickly and then the pattern started. This one particular stitch is not explained in the instructions, but I saw that there was a link that leads me to a video tutorial. But I couldn't click on it, I only had the pattern on paper with me. Yes, of course I could have walked in and turned on the PC, but - I hope someone reading this will understand! - it was just so nice and comfortable outside. I was quite sure that I could do it without the video, using the pictures in the pattern. After about three pattern repetitions I realized that what I was doing was completely wrong. From that point on I only kept knitting out of defiance. Until I threw it my project bag and put it in the corner.  Because it was clear that it had to be ripped off.

It took some time until I had the leisure to deal with my Sorrel again. Meanwhile I had already tried to unravel it, but with mohair this is almost undoable and for an impatient person like me, simply a thing of impossibility. But since I had looked at the tutorial now and it "clicked", there was no stopping now. So, important tip: watch the tutorial before you start!

At the beginning I was a little bit worried about the size. In my case the knitted piece looked very small while I was working on the pattern. But: just trust the designers! The size indications are exactly right - provided that your gauge is correct! Unlike many German and European instructions, the sizes are not given in S, M, L, XL,... . And that is a good thing! If I have size M in the first shop, I go out the next shop with a piece in size L. This has happened to me many times before and I know that I am not the only one. So: If you write me that you would like to knit a sweater in size M and I ask you about your chest circumference, please don't be surprised ;) Because the chest circumference makes the most sense as a size indication! Therefore (because I get so many questions): please take a measurement of your chest and choose the kit for your Sorrel sweater based on these measurements.

But back to my project. I have to admit that I did not enjoy knitting the beautiful pattern that much at first. But I suppose that this was due to my unsuccessful start. Because as soon as the sleeves were put on hole, I missed the pattern :)

However, before the sleeves are put on hold, short rows are worked on the back. This will cause the back to be slightly higher at the end than the front. I was very pleased to see that the designers already use "german short rows" and I didn't have to convert anything. Often American instructions use the "wrap and turn" method, but unfortunately this results in unsightly small holes. So thumbs up for this pattern!

Once you only have the stitches for the body on needles, the work is flipped inside out and you continue knitting from the inside. This is also very cleverly thought out: The body part consists of pure purl stitches. But if you turn the work inside out, you can simply knit down the body comfortably in stockinette stitch. Here I had to decide how long I wanted the sweater in the end. I came to a pretty good solution: not super long, not cropped, a medium length version, because I would like to wear the sweater with dresses as well as with high waist jeans.

The sleeves are done the same way with the work flipped inside out i.e. you do many knit stitches, so that the front side has nice purl stitches in the end. As far as the sleeve length is concerned, I did not have to think a lot. I like my sleeves a bit longer than the average person - simply because I am a terrible sleeve puller :))

The rest was actually a piece of cake. At least for the one who can read *clearing-my-throat*. The cuffs (neck, body and sleeves), are knitted in a twisted rib pattern. In order to see the twisted stitches, you have to turn the work back to the right side (the one with the purl stitches). I completely forgot to do this with the body, which is why you won't see any twisted stitches there now. But that's okay, nobody will notice, right? Because ripping  was not an option for me! ;) At least I didn't forget to do this for the sleeves!

Another step I saved myself with perfect intention. Body and sleeves should be bound off with the "sewn bind off method". Who does not know what this is, can google for it. The search results will explain very well why I simply bound loosely in pattern. You want to finish once in a while ;)

Conclusion: This will be my absolute favourite piece in autumn!

Hallo meine Lieben,

wie viele von euch ja wissen - sei es über Instagram oder meinen Podcast oder Ravelry - stricke ich momentan ja den Sorrel Pullover von Wool and Pine. Viele stricken dieses tolle Design und ich bekomme jede Woche ganz viele Emails und Aufträge für diesen Pullover. Das Beraten bei der Farbwahl macht mir große Freude und da die Nachfrage so groß ist, wird es ab heute Abend Sorrel Kits geben, die ihr ab 16.00 Uhr in der Kategorie Kits finden könnt.

Wichtig: Ich habe mit der Anleitung nichts zu tun! Diese findet ihr auf Ravelry: Sorrel von Wool and Pine (erhätlich auf Englisch, Französisch und Spanisch). Ich rate dazu, dass ihr die Anleitung kauft, bevor ihr ein Kit bei mir erwerbt. Der Grund ist ganz einfach die Garnmenge, die du benötigst: Diese richtet sich laut Anleitung nach dem Brustumfang.

Ich habe die Angaben in der Anleitung so umgerechnet, dass du deine Größe beim Bestellen bequem auswählen kannst. Über die Richtigkeit der Angaben der Designerin kann ich aber keine Gewährleistung geben. Ich habe mich bei den Kits an die Angaben für einen Pulli mit langen Ärmeln gehalten. Es gibt auch die Option für einen kürzeren Pullover mit Dreiviertelärmeln. Daher bitte ich euch, die Informationen in der Anleitung zu überprüfen, damit ihr das Kit auch in der richtigen Größe bestellt.

Die Anleitung des Sorrel Pullovers ist nämlich für sehr viele Größen geschrieben (80-168cm Brustumfang), und daher habe ich mich dazu entschieden, die Kits in mehreren Größen anzubieten, damit ihr am Ende nicht viel zu viel Wolle übrig habt. Jedes Kit ist in acht verschiedenen Garnmengen bestellbar.

Nun aber endlich zu den Kits und den Farbkombinationen, die es heute geben wird. Insgesamt habt ich acht (!!!) unterschiedliche Farbzusammenstellungen zur Auswahl und es war wirklich die Qual der Wahl, denn mir wären noch viel mehr Kombinationen aus den Soft Socks und der Extraklasse eingefallen. Aber bei diesen acht ist ganz sicher für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei!

Da ich so eine große Auswahl anbiete und vorab nicht abschätzen kann, wie viel von welcher Farbkombination bestellt wird, habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, dass ich die Wolle erst nach Bestellung färben werde. Das macht den Prozess für mich einfach viel einfacher und ihr könnt euch sicher sein, dass auch jeder ein Kit bekommt. Die Lieferzeit beträgt maximal 14 Werktage, aber auf Wolle für so ein traumhaftes Projekt wartet man doch gerne ein paar Tage, oder nicht?

Und nun wünsche ich euch viel Spaß beim Durchlesen der Anleitung und der schwierigen Entscheidung, welches Kit es wohl werden wird :D

as many of you know - whether it's via Instagram or my podcast or Ravelry - I'm currently knitting the Sorrel sweater by Wool and Pine. A lot of people knit this great design and I get a lot of emails and orders for this sweater every week. I really enjoy helping on the choice of colours and because the demand is so great, there will be Sorrel Kits available from tonight on, which you can find from 4pm (GMT+2) in the category Kits.

Important: I have nothing to do with the pattern! You can find it on Ravelry: Sorrel von Wool and Pine (available in English, French and Spanish). I advise you to buy the pattern before you buy a kit from me. The reason is simply the amount of yarn you need: The instructions say it's based on your chest measurement.

I have calculated the information in the pattern so that you can easily choose your size when ordering. However, I cannot give any guarantee about the correctness of the designer's information. I have used the information given for a sweater with long sleeves.There is also the option for a shorter sweater with three-quarter sleeves. Therefore I ask you to check the information in the pattern so that you order the right right size of the kit.

The pattern for the Sorrel sweater are written for a lot of sizes (80-168cm chest circumference), so I decided to offer the kits in several sizes, so you won't have too much yarn left in the end. Each kit can be ordered in eight different yarn quantities.

But now finally to the kits and the colour combinations that will be available today. In total I have eight (!!!) different colour combinations to choose from and it was really spoilt for choice, because I could have thought of many more combinations of the Soft Socks and the Extraklasse. But with these eight, there is definitely something for everyone!

Since I offer such a large selection and cannot estimate in advance how much of which colour combination will be ordered, I have decided that I will dye the yarn only after the order has been placed. This makes the process a lot easier for me and you can be sure that everyone will get a kit. The delivery time is a maximum of 14 working days, but waiting a few days for yarn for such a fantastic project is a pleasure, isn't it?

Hallo meine Lieben,

das heutige Shopupdate ist etwas früher als ihr es gewohnt seid und zwar schon um 16.00 Uhr! Dann gehen insgesamt 16 (!!!) verschiedene Soft Socks Sets online! Und ja, das ist etwas Besonderes. Denn wir ihr ja wisst, wickel ich die 20g Ministränge per Hand, weshalb es neue Sock Sets nicht sehr oft im Shop gibt. Sollte euch also ein Set besonders gut gefallen, dann zögert nicht lange ;)

Und da wir schon von Sock Sets sprechen: Der Bot Socks Summer Club ist nur noch bis einschließlich Sonntag erhältich. Wenn ich am Montag ins Büro gehe, werde ich den Club offline nehmen. Wollt ihr also dabei sein und euch den Club für die Monate Juni, Juli und August gönnen, habt ihr nicht mehr allzu lange Zeit dazu!

Das war es auch schon von mir für heute, da ich gleich wieder ins Studio gehe, um Wolle zu färben. Eine wichtige Sache vielleicht noch zum Schluss: Wie ihr vielleicht schon mitbekommen habt, ist es seit ein paar Wochen nun möglich, alle 113 Färbungen, die ich im Programm habe, nun jederzeit auf den Soft Socks zu bestellen, ohne mir eine Email schreiben zu müssen. Ich färbe ständig nach und falls es eine Färbung aktuell doch nicht geben sollte, kannst du sie trotzdem bestellen. Denn da ich täglich färbe, dauert es nicht lange, bis deine Wolle fertig ist und versendet werden kann. Aus diesem Grund wird es wohl in Zukunft nicht mehr ganz so häufig Shopupdates geben, da diese einfach nicht mehr notwendig sind.

Jetzt hör ich aber auf :)

Today's shop update is a little earlier than you are used to, already at 4pm (GMT +2)! Then a total of 16 (!!!) different Soft Socks Sets will go online! And yes, this is something special. Because as you know, I wind each of the 20g mini skeins by hand, which is why new Socks Sets are not very often available in the shop. So if you fall in love with a particular set, don't hesitate ;)

And speaking of Sock Sets: The Bot Socks Summer Club will only be available until Sunday. When I go to the office on Monday, I will take the club offline. So if you want to be part of it and enjoy the club for the months of June, July and August, you don't have too much time left!

That's it from me for today, as I'm going right back to the studio to dye yarn. One important thing maybe at the end: As you might have already noticed, since a few weeks it is now possible to order all 113 colourways I have in my program on the Soft Socks without writing me an email. I'm constantly re-dyeing and if there is a colourway that is currently not available, you can order it anyway. Because I dye daily, it doesn't take long until your yais ready and can be shipped. For this reason there will probably not be as many shop updates in the future, because they are simply no longer necessary.

Hallo meine Lieben,

beim heutigen Shopupdate erwarten euch um 17.00 Uhr sechs einzigartige, exklusive Muttertagsfärbungen auf den Soft Socks.

Die Geschichte hinter diesen Färbungen: Da mir dieses Jahr etwas die Kreativität für Sonderfärbungen gefehlt hat, habe ich auf Instagram in meinen Storys um Hilfe gebeten und viele tolle Vorschläge bekommen. Schließlich hat mir dann als Insiration die Idee einen Blumenstraußes zu Muttertag gedient. Und so sind anstatt einer, tatsächlich sechs verschiedene Färbungen entstanden.

Natürlich habe ich etwas überlegt, wann ich dieses Garn anbieten soll, aber ich dachte, ein Monat vor Muttertag ist eine gute Idee, denn so habt ihr genug Zeit, dass ihr die Wolle oder daraus Gestricktes verschenken könnt.

Daher gibt es das Muttertagsupdate schon heute. Denkt bitte bei eurer Bestellung daran, dass diese sechs Färbungen exklusiv sind und nie wieder gefärbt werden. Mir hat es unglaublich Spaß gemacht, diese Färbungen zu kreiieren und hoffe, sie gefallen euch.

Hello everybody,

At today's shop update at 5.00 pm (GMT+2) six unique, exclusive Mother's Day colourways await you on my Soft Socks base.

The story behind these colourways: As I was lacking a bit of creativity for special colourways this year, I asked for help on Instagram in my stories and got a lot of great suggestions. In the end, the idea of a bouquet of flowers for Mother's Day served me as inspiration. And so instead of one, actually six different colorways were created.

Of course I thought a bit about when to offer this yarn, but I figured a month before Mother's Day is a good idea, because that way you have enough time to give away the yarn or something you knitted with it.

So the Mother's Day update will already be available today. Please remember when ordering that these six colourways are exclusive and will never be dyed again. I had a lot of fun creating these colours and really hope you like them.

Great pattern for sweater beginners knitted with Herbstwind ♥

Hallo meine Lieben,

Ende Februar durchstöberte ich wie so oft Ravelry und stieß auf eine Anleitung für einen Pullover, der mir auf Anhieb gefiel: Missoni Accomplished von Espace Tricot. Ein sehr schönes schlichtes Design, das sich sicherlich in jedem Kleiderschrank gutmacht. Die Anleitung, die übrigens kostenlos ist, druckte ich mir sofort aus und mittlerweile weiß ich, was das bedeutet. Nämlich, dass ich mit dem Projekt auch gleich anfangen werde.

Die Wolle war schnell rausgesucht, denn dir Herbstwind hat für diesen Pulli die perfekte Garnstärke. Ich entschied mich für ein Senfgelb als Hauptfarbe (Farbe 18) und Schwarz für die Zickzack-Streifen (Farbe 5). Wie ich später dank einiger meiner Follower auf Instagram feststellen durfte, sind das wohl genau die Farben, die auch der Pullover von Charlie Brown hat :D

Brav wie ich war, habe ich auch eine Maschenprobe gemacht und kam ziemlich gut hin. Punktlandung bei den Maschen, die Reihen haben nicht ganz gestimmt, aber das lässt sich ja während des Strickens recht leicht korrigieren (ich musste einfach nur ein paar Runden mehr stricken).

Von der Konstruktion her, ist der Missoni Accomplished wirklich simpel. Es handelt sich um einen Rundpassenpullover und ich bin ja der Meinung, dass diese Konstruktion perfekt für alle Pullovereinsteiger ist. Bei diesem Design muss man nicht einmal verkürzte Reihen arbeiten und dennoch sitzt der Pulli wirklich gut, da er etwas oversized sitzen soll.

Das Schöne bei einem Rundpassenpulli ist, das man sich nicht viele Gedanken machen muss. Man beginnt mit dem Halsausschnitt und dann werden alle paar Runden ziemlich viele Maschen aufgenommen, bis man den passenden Umfang erreicht hat und man schließlich die Ärmel stilllegen kann.

Das Schöne beim Missoni Accomplished ist, dass man gar nicht aufhören möchte weiterzustricken. Der erste Zickzackstreifen erfolgt bereits während der Zunahmerunden. Kaum hat man die Ärmel stillgelegt, strickt man auch schon den zweiten Zickzackstreifen. Kaum hat man den, ist man eigentlich auch schon mit dem Körperteil fertig, wenn man noch ein paar Runden strickt. Dann fehlen nur noch die Ärmel.

Ich höre ja immer wieder von vielen StrickerInnen, dass sie das Ärmelstricken nicht leiden können. Was ich ehrlich gesagt absolut nicht nachvollziehen kann, denn eigentlich ist ein Ärmel nichts Anderes als eine lange Socke, bei der man keine Ferse stricken muss. Außerdem bedeutet Ärmelstricken, dass man bald etwas Neues zum Anziehen hat. Deswegen kann ich das Jammern immer gar nicht nachvollziehen ;)

Hätte ich nicht so viele andere Projekte auf den Nadeln gehabt (und neue Dinge angeschlagen), wäre der Pulli sicherlich in weniger als zwei Wochen fertig geworden. So habe ich fünf Wochen gebraucht - aber Stricken ist ja auch kein Marathon, oder?

Kleines Manko für manche von euch ist wahrscheinlich, dass es die Anleitung nur auf Englisch gibt. Ich habe mich am Wochenende für euch hingesetzt und die Anleitung übersetzt. Wer sich also dafür entscheidet, diesen Pulli ebenfalls zu stricken und dafür die Herbstwind bei mir bestellt, dem schicke ich die Übersetzung gerne per Email zu.

Ich hoffe, ich habe euch den Missoni Accomplished schmackhaft gemacht und ihr habt richtig Lust bekommen, den nachzustricken. Ich bin gedanklich auf jeden Fall schon beim nächsten und überlege bereits, welche Farben es dann sein könnten ;)

Hello everybody,

At the end of February I was browsing Ravelry as I often do and came across a pattern for a sweater I liked right away: Missoni Accomplished by Espace Tricot. A very nice and simple design, which will surely look good in any wardrobe. I immediately printed the pattern pages, which are free of charge by the way, and by now I know what that means. Namely, that I will also start with the project right away.

The yarn was quickly selected, because the Herbstwind has the perfect yarn weight for this sweater. I decided on mustard yellow as the main colour (colour 18) and black for the zigzag stripes (colour 5). As I later found out thanks to some of my followers on Instagram, these are probably exactly the same colours as the sweater worn by Charlie Brown :D

As I was very well-behaved, I also swatched for my gauge and got there quite well. Perfect stitch count, only the rows were not quite right, but that can be corrected quite easily while knitting (I just had to knit a few more rounds).

The construction of the Missoni Accomplished is really simple. It's a round yoke sweater and I think that this construction is perfect for all sweater beginners. This design is actually so easy that you don't have to work short rows. Nevertheless, the sweater fits really well, as it is supposed to sit a bit oversized.

The nice thing about a round yoke sweater is that you don't have to think about it too much. You start with the neckline and then every few rounds you pick up quite a few stitches until you have reached the right circumference and finally you can separate body and sleeves.

The nice thing of Missoni Accomplished is that you never want to stop knitting. The first zigzag stripe already occurs during the increase rounds. As soon as the sleeve stitches are put on hold, the second zigzag strip is already knitted. As soon as you have that one, you are actually already finished with the body part, if you only knit a few more rounds. Then only the sleeves are missing.

I often hear from many knitters that they can't stand sleeve knitting. Which I honestly can't understand at all, because actually a sleeve is nothing else than a long sock where you don't have to knit a heel. Besides, knitting sleeves means that you will soon have something new to wear. That's why I always can't understand the moaning ;)

If I hadn't had so many other projects on the needles (and started new things), the sweater would surely have been finished in less than two weeks. So it took me five weeks - but knitting is not a marathon, is it?

A small drawback for some of you not able to understand an English pattern is probably that the instructions are only available in English. I sat down for you over the weekend and translated the pattern. So if you decide to knit this sweater as well and order the Herbstwind from me, I'll be happy to send you the translation by email.

I hope I made the Missoni Accomplished tasty for you and you really wanted to knit it. I'm already thinking about the next one and which colours to pick ;)
