Happy Scrappy Blanket

3.50
Price incl. VAT

Happy Scrappy Blanket by Schibot Garne - a knitting pattern for a blanket, using leftovers of sock yarn, in German and English.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN:

Since I still get  a lot  of  questions about how I knitted my huge blanket, I think it's time to write a pattern for it. Strictly speaking, it's much more a recipe for how to achieve the rectangular shape, because the complete blanket is simply knitted in garter stitch and is meant to use up leftovers of sock yarn or other fingering weight yarn.

The idea didn't really come from me. When I was looking for a project for my leftovers, I came across Ravelry with the following two patterns: Kraft-tanken-Patches by Janina Böttger and Dicke Decke/Big Afghan by Ulli Stuttgart. But I didn't want a patchwork blanket where I had to weave in a lot of ends at the end. I wanted a super simple project.

The blanket is worked holding together two threads throughout, but this does not mean that the blanket will be finished quickly. I was working on mine for four years - not all the time, of course, but it was a very time-consuming project.

With the help of this basic recipe you can knit your blanket in any size: from a baby blanket to a bedspread, everything is possible.

This project is also very suitable for beginners, because to knit this blanket you only have to be able to cast on stitches, and to make very simple increases and decreases. No purling!

I wish you a lot of fun with this free pattern!

      Nadine

NOTE: Pattern no longer free of charge to cover costs of the shop and working effort.

MATERIAL:

  • leftovers of 4-ply sock yarn (for my blanket which measures 150cm x 200cm I used up about 2,5kg of yarn)
  • 3.5mm circular needle, long cable (150cm)
  • darning needle and scissors

Wyvern Shawl

4.20
Price incl. VAT

Wyvern Shawl by Schibot Garne - a knitting pattern for a shawl, in German and English.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN:

This shawl combines a number of different knitting techniques: lace, brioche and struturmuster make up this design. When knitting you have a lot of variety and at the end you have a three-coloured shawl, which is a real eye-catcher.

The finished shawl measures about 150cm x 52cm. A gauge is not necessary. If you do not use fingering weight yarn,  this naturally changes the size of the finished piece as well as the yarn consumption.

The pattern itself is written in great detail and contains both written instructions and charts to help you follow the pattern.

When you purchase this manual, you will receive a total of two pdf files (German and English), each 14 DIN A 4 pages long.

TECHNIQUES:

  • casting on
  • knit and purl
  • yarn overs
  • slip stitches
  • various decreases and increases
  • knitting in rows
  • change colours
  • brioche (is explained)
  • binding off (is explained)

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS:

TIPS FOR CHOOSING COLOURS:

The Wyvern Shawl is knitted using three different colours. When choosing the colours, I recommend using a speckled yarn for colour B and two solid ones for colours A and C.
For my version I chose Vigour as colour B, a colour with green and black speckles. This colour is used for the brioche part and the textured parts. From this I looked for two solid yarns, which are used for the lace patterns, and decided for Druid as colour A and Finsternis for colour B:

Ocean Depth

1.00
Price incl. VAT

Ocean Depth von Schibot Garne - a free pattern in German and English.

I originally designed this shawl because I was looking for a one-skein-project that is simple but not boring to knit.

Since its release in 2015 the pattern has been downloaded many times.
Since I have knitted a larger version of the Ocean Depth shawl using two skeins of yarn, it is time for an update of the pattern to give you more options.

This pattern is great for beginners as well as for those who  want  to have a great result without much effort.

NOTE: Pattern no longer free of charge to cover costs of the shop and working effort.

Gauge and finished size:

  • 26 stitches x 38 rows = 10x10 cm / 4x4'' (stockinette, in rows)
  • Gauge is not crucial but keep in mind that getting a different gauge or using different yarn, you shawl might be smaller or larger in the end.
  • measurements small version: 138cm x 35cm (54'' x 13½'')
  • measurements large version: 150cm x 42cm (59'' x 16½'')
  • Since the pattern is very easy, the size of the shawl can be easily adjusted.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN

Hello Bunny is a nice, small project for Easter time, which is not only easy to knit, but is also very quick to complete, as it is worked with double thread.

Icy Cold

5.50
Price incl. VAT

Icy Cold by Schibot Garne - knitting pattern in German and English.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN

Icy Cold is a warm sweater knitted with thick wool and can therefore be finished quickly despite the Fair Isle pattern.

The yoke sweater is knitted from top to bottom. The Fair Isle pattern may look complicated, but it is easy to memorize and easy to handle.

All you need are three colours of my Merino 100% ARAN yarn base. I recommend using solid colours, which offer a clear contrast to each other, so that the pattern stands out well.

When you download the pattern, you will receive both the German and the English PDF files. Each is 11 DIN A 4 pages long and leads you step by step with detailed instructions to the finished sweater.

Enjoy knitting your Icy Cold Sweater ♥
